I started hitting the gym for the first time 4 days ago, I’ve seen no gains in that time, thinking of cancelling my membership. How long do you have to lift, before I you get shredded ?
Thanks in advance |

I stopped going to the gym about 6 weeks ago because mrs wanted an extension built. Crazy long days and no time to eat, flat out all day. Best shape for ages now . Cancel the gym and build an extension |

You have to post on Facebook every time you go to the gym for it to work.
That, or take a muscle flex pose in a a gym mirror.
If you don't do these, you never truly went to the gym |

My mate does, or post all his strava rides on FB. I always leave a ‘cool story bro!’ Comment underneath |

It takes a full week to bulk up, then 2 days to get shredded and veins pop. Also drink 4 cups of coffee before every session as the caffeine with speed up the results! Keep it up! |

I’d rather walk/cycle miles per day.
Especially due to weather being so nice recently etc.
Get some sun screen on, have a nice long walk or cycle plus you’ll save money on gym fees
A stuffy/sweaty gym V’s nice outdoor walk with fresh air.
(I know what I’d pick) |

Also works better if you share every pic of every protein shake or salad you have. If you binge on a kebab it never happened if it's not online.. |

Exercise, including gym use, provides many types of 'gains', including muscle growth. Nutrition is said to be responsible for most of the development, rather than the actual effort that's been made at the gym.
In reality, for a new gym user, the most important thing is for their exercises to be undertaken in the appropriate way that's both healthy and conducive to help them meet their goals. It's not just about the programme of exercise but also the quality of how they train, including the frequency.
It's important to have realistic expectations of course. I'd probably just expect to feel a little sore during my first week of training, rather than seeing muscles bulging out like Popeye's or Schwarzenegger's.
I'm always on hand to provide appropriate feedback, touch or a good slap, if things aren't going to plan. |

I felt sore the first time I went to the gym, I dropped a dumbbell on my foot. It was a good job I was wearing my boots. |

You'll feel sore for the first few weeks as your muscles get used to the tearing.
Eat a high protein, low carb diet and invest in some bcaa for all day use and whey protein for after.
You will see proper gains in around 2 to 3 weeks and fat loss in that time too.
Only if you put the work in though. |

I go to the gym and then go to the fish and chip shop and the pub on the way home.
Fish - protein
Mushy peas - 1 of my 5 a day
Beer - hops, wheat and to replenish lost fluids I’ve sweated out....
Dry roasted peanuts - saturated fats.
Sometimes when I’ve only got a little time I drop the gym and just go straight to the chip shop and pub - I can watch MTV in the pub anyway and drinking a pint is curls anyway |

Funniest thread on here. I'm laughing so hard nearly spilled my vegan protein muscle mass, super cutting, moob lifting, dog fart shake.
I do the 1-6 regime. One 45 minute session taking selfies in my vest, then 6 days eating everything in the cupboards to bulk up.
Not sure how I look, but I'm getting good chest pump and my arm is numb.. |

Meh mine doesn't have a jacuzzi. I rub the ice on my cellulite though and have a quick dip in the pool. I occasionally look at the gym equipment (while it's being used by hot men) surely that now counts as going to the gym? |

I generally find that some who try to ridicule others who enjoy the gym have had a tough day at work and venting on the forums
In answer to the OP, maybe you are receiving a few not my types and genuinely want to improve if so
No 4 days is not enough
With good nutrition and an honest work ethic and good plan results can be viewed within 2 weeks
However I always reccomend training for health and life benefits not aesthetics per se , also it requires certain psychological attributes which some cannot maintain often their solution is to poke fun at others , well whatever makes you happy bruu x |
