This a question for football fans are a mans games or has it become little boys game where the players have become soft buy taking a fall to get a free kick or is it money game were they get pay lots of money to tripped and fall anywhere on the pitch because it not like the olden day were it was football game wear they got tackled in the game?   |

Same as above, played semi pro for years but I was never a dirty player, usually on the wrong end of being kicked
I think the thought that the players aren’t tough is a nonsense though, anyone playing a professional level will be able to look after themselves |

Where jones is concerned good, he was a thug and the game is better without his like. The game has improved but someone like Keane would still be head and shoulders above many current midfielders |

Why do people have a problem with people playing with balls? Odd shaped, round or even small ones with dimples?
Op, my problem is when pundits or fans watch a replay two players are trying to get to a ball and a player tugs a shirt. Someone says ‘he could have gone down and got a penalty for that! (Or something along those lines)
When has someone tugging my clothing caused me to hit the floor?
My conclusion is it has become a sport where the contact part of the game is confused, as shepherding a ball, and blatant shoulder charging (not intending to play the ball but instead knock the player out of the way) is stil okay, but the slightest of brushes can be viewed as a foul.
It’s not a mans game anymore, no grown man should fall over holding his face when he’s clearly not been touched. |

Anyone that has played or still plays at a competitive level will know that it is still a tough sport. I have lost count of the amount of broken bones and serious injuries I've sustained but come back for more every season. Playing in the Essex Greene King Vets league presently. |

I think it’s the view as a spectator on telly the op is discussing, I like hacking my brother down when playing against him, and ask my kids how rough I can get on a Sunday. It’s still a mans game when I’m defending.  |

The small ones with dimples are usually being hit by the small men with dimples, we call them the back patters.

Oh yes. Generally standing on a Terrace with no segregation, friendly and hospitable clubs and normally a decent clubhouse too at most grounds. When Orient first went down I feared the worst but it's not too bad at all. |
