So, I was thinking about going to Liverpool to watch the final this Sat and soak up some atmosphere.

Hotels seems to be between £400-800 which is not gonna happen.

Anyone know somewhere reasonable or I’m gonna have to have to hope for a local meet

Brighton - even Hove!

I’d rather sleep on the beach than pay that!

The beach starts in Liverpool and goes all the way to Blackpool and beyond without a break in it.

Look outside the city centre, there are tons in Southport for instance and only 35 minutes on the train to Liverpool which will cost you less than a fiver.

Liverpool

There’s something seriously wrong with you if you’ll even consider staying at pontins.

Do not stay in pontins, it’s more like Belsen than a holiday camp believe me, I live a stones throw from it.

I’m on nights over the weekend otherwise I’d have put you up. I’m sure you’ll be inundated with offers now tho.

I've just got a few friends coming to mine. Beers and comfy seats with no queuing at the bar. The atmosphere can be what you make it.

But I agree. I'd love to be in the city for this game.

So nervous about it though. If it's a great open game it may just give me a heart attack!!

I can't live through another Istanbul...

Istanbul was the game of all games. Gerard’s winning goal was out of this world.

Gerrard never scored a winner. He scored to make it 3.1 .Alonso scored the equaliser . Dudek saved Shevchenkos pen that made Liverpool the victors .

He may be refering to the goal against Olympiakos that took us through to the next stages.

That's one of my favourites of all time!!

"What a hit son!! What a hit!!

Still get goosebumps just remembering it.

I’m not a big follower of the footy but the goal I’m on about was the one he fired off from just over the halfway line just before the end of the game. I thought it was Istanbul, I’m obviously wrong. It was a cracking goal all the same.

I’ve just watched the goal I’m on about, I was wrong on two counts, it was the olympiakos game and wasn’t from just o er the half way line. It was a long time ago, funny how you remember things isn’t it.

Looking at hotels this weekend. Prices range from £130 to £300. If you book from Friday to Sunday, prices drop to £100 a night. It is a busy weekend in the city - a bank holiday, the football and the Tall Ships at the Albert Dock. Not sure where you're getting £600 from.

Ellesmere Port where I live is only about 30 minutes from Liverpool plus plenty of hotels here, can’t imagine them charging much to let people stay if I’m honest
