Some women represent themselves in a worrying way.

I think the trend to value physical attributes over the developing of minds and personality is worrying. The plugged in social media era is changing humans and how they perceive the world, it's a new way of thinking. I'm all for technology and constant evolving but it's a worrying trend that there are a lot of very isolated, impressionable young people, getting a skewed world view.

She represents a certain type of woman.

I think the media reflects society and as such all women will be represented just maybe not in the way everyone would like.

I saw the cover of a magazine called Closer (I think) yesterday and it had a very slim Kerry Catona on it and a less slim other famous woman whose name I've forgotten. Their bodies were being commented on. I don't like this representation of women but it must sell magazines.

I thoroughly dislike the Bridget Jones representation of women but the popularity of the book implies that it chimes with many women.

I suppose we identify with the representation that is most similar to us or to how we would like to be.

I can't say I've thought about it. I still don't really see it as women getting represented /shown in a certain light...

I just see people as people, some are complete fucknuggets and others aren't.

I do know there is a fake society. That bases itself on looks.

I have a twelve year-old Niece, who idolises certain young women who are in the media spotlight. I wish more of them were worthy of the attention.

I think Beyoncé is worthy of the attention, there goes a beautiful black woman who is driven, talented, intelligent, focused, has spent her career exploring many emotive issues.

Never forget, you’re a strong, independent black woman.
