And out of that tiny irrelevant league popped up a manager referred to as "who"? And later became known as Arsene Wenger. All great managers were once little known, even if Jose chooses believe he was born the Special One. Haha |

Those days new managers get years too stay in a club, to steady the ship, now only 6 weeks, if things not going well you will be out soon... |

That isn't Arsenal's style and doubt ever will be. I think Emery is a good fit for the club and has worked in a similar structure. Has a decent track record at PSG and Sevilla. Meant to be a great coach who gets the most from his players. We'll see. A slightly more ambitious choice than Arteta I feel. |

People are too impatient these days and want instant success.
Unfortunately I think that might be the same here.
Arsene came in at at time of the hill wood and David dein era.
They had been scouting and watching Mr Wenger for a long time prior to his appointment, his approach to training and the level of professionalism he demanded from his players revolutionised not only arsenal but the PL as well.
Him and Ferguson pretty much paved the way forward.
Arsenal's success was that no one was expecting the changes and it took the rest of the league some time to catch up.
However the biggest problem they had was revenue until the new stadium was built their income was lower than alot of the club's they were competing against.
Then you had situations like with Chelsea who were basically given unlimited funding the same with city.
The history and tradition of arsenal football club was very much part of Wenger and his approach to not only training but his entire management style.
Now as I said at the start we now live in an instant success society and I worry that the new chap won't be given time bring his own style to the club before fan's start calling for his head.
Personally speaking I liked the way Wenger carried himself and his low key attitude, and possibly the new chap could be the right fit for the club, rather than just appointing a big name to appease the naysayers.
Unless he flops massively he should be given a minimum of two to three years.
He has massive boots to fill, people have very short memories and forget exactly how much success Wenger had and how much he changed the club.
The Arsenal way has always been patience and low key class.
It's unlikely that we will ever see another Wenger or Ferguson anytime soon.
But we have to learn to adapt and be patient. |
