Anyone else miss certain parts/features of where they grew up?
Don't get me wrong, I love living in Southampton now, but I really miss the beach I was brought up near in Littlehampton. Almost feel land locked here without a decent seafront to walk on each day. |

I don't think of where I grew up as my home town. My best place to live was Birmingham as it had everything, shopping, great restaurants, plenty to do, loads of bars, and a good selection of local swingers clubs. Now I have to travel to get to places like that |

Good way to look at it! I went to uni in Winchester and have a lot of fond memories of living there too, quaint and not too busy with loads of nice pubs and views. |

I loved where I grew up. Me and my sister worked in the local shop and everyone knew everyone and looked out for everyone. It was called The Bronx but the nutters wouldn't harm you. So many fond memories
Not many people still stay there I wouldn't bring my kids up there now. Too many stabbings
I was working in a shop and when a woman was returning something I had to ask for her postcode. Turns out she stayed in my old house. I was so excited and sad at the same time. She was telling me about when she moved in it still had the olive green bathroom suite lol and how bad it was. She said I was welcome to chap her door anytime. Would love to go and see my old room but doubt I ever will x |

I was born and grew up in Eton, we now live between Slough and Windsor so not really too far away. I miss the little bakers that was in Eton High Street... their bread was lush and the cakes to die for. It's closed now, sadly. |

We live very close to the areas we both grew up in so neither of us miss anything as we are still in the same area. We have both lived in different areas of Leicestershire during our lives though. |

I grew up in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere with no shops or pubs or anything, was so boring as a teenager but I still have good memories of being a kid as everyone knew eachother and would go out exploring in the woods catching frogs at the stream and everyone would be out playing together all the time, a great little community. But now when I go back to visit family its such a shit run down place and everything is falling apart and looks abandoned, its like a ghost town and never see anybody out or any kids out playing and nobody knows anybody living there anymore  makes me sad |

I grew up in a Sussex seaside resort, The Last Resort as I called it, left there at age 21 and I've hardly ever been back. I spent the next 30 ish years in Doncaster which,in all honesty, has few charms but I have more fond memories from there than from my hometown.
Now,I feel I have it all. Several beaches,some great friends, bars,cafes,restaurants,pubs (lets not forget the pubs),stunning countryside not far away,the bright lights of the city even closer,always something going on and a job I love.
I'd like to say 'always looking forward,never back' but I was actually born in Cyprus,I wouldn't mind going back there for a while.  |

My home town is miles away surrounded on three sides by water and they have to stop traffic to let the plane land. It’s cramped a little dirty and under constant pressure from the neighbours. But it’s home and it’s brilliant so much history. Great weather and an enviable GDP.

I grew up in a little village called Roslin. I miss how it once was. Running down the park to see my gran for lunch. The place has changed now, lots of places I have memories of have been replaced by houses. Family have all passed on and it no longer feels like home. |

Highcliffe 17 miles.
Lee-on-Solent 16 miles both less than 30 mins by car. I've done BOTH at sunset this week. Utterly gorgeous, and you get the beach to yourself! |

I live in the town I grew up in.
I miss the neighbourly feel and community. I miss the quietness of the roads. I miss the green, well-kept front gardens with their abundance of flowers.
I miss the fresh air smell. |

I can understand you missing Littlehampton.
Hubby and I spent Christmas with his mum and stepdad. We spent a few hours walking along the seafront at littlehampton on Christmas morning, it was bliss! |

Oi there's fuck all wrong with this shithole!
Both my schools have been knocked down which has ruined some childhood memories and the "lanny" is now totally overgrown and not the adventure playground it once was for kids growing up. So many private landlords in the area I grew up as well so some of the lovely period properties have been neglected and it's a bit of a dump these days. |

Well I like it! Actually live out in the sticks but Bridport is only 5/10 mins in the car. The area of West Dorset in general isn’t a bad place to get stranded. |
