So I’m half naked, chilling out on a sunlounger on the patio..... I open my eyes and A FRIGGIN DRONE just above my garden .... jeeez I can see this being the new craze over summer

Have quick search for the drone code, if they are breaking any of the recommendations or regulations then report it, (personally, if it close enough a super soaker watergun will really spoil their day) and if they're breaking the code then they'll be reluctant to report it as criminal damage.
I fly a drone and I am extremely vigilant to follow the code and not intrude on people, but also fully understand why people get hacked off with irresponsible flyers. |

Have quick search for the drone code, if they are breaking any of the recommendations or regulations then report it, (personally, if it close enough a super soaker watergun will really spoil their day) and if they're breaking the code then they'll be reluctant to report it as criminal damage.
I fly a drone and I am extremely vigilant to follow the code and not intrude on people, but also fully understand why people get hacked off with irresponsible flyers. "

Possibly... But then again from the point of view of someone simply trying to enjoy themselves in the privacy of their garden and then they end up faced with someone flying a drone over them, of course much depends upon the type of flying, for example a racing drone buzzing around is unlikely to be there for voyeuristic purposes,but a camera platform flying very slowly close by presents different possibilities. |

Depends upon the purpose of the flight and if they have permission from the land owners they are flying over, it doesn't have to be directly overhead and they could be flying withing the code, then to willfully cause the damage one could leave themselves open to legal action.
That being said anyone who flies in a built up area is most likely not flying within the code anyway so it'd probably end up six of one and half a dozen of the other... |
