I think it's a disgrace that the country is in such a mess and this much money is being spent on two over privileged people.

There are still people who lost everything in Grenfell waiting to rebuild their lives.

Inequality and eliteism drives me mad.

Cue the haters....

The dress was in keeping with the castle, Hollywood glamour would not have worked. I was so glad there were no pages in knickerbockers. Re make up, for Brides less is best! Can’t have someone rocking up looking like they belong at Playboy Mansion! I thought a Maid of Honour would have been nice to help with that huge veil.

I like the royals they bring a lot to this country, much more than spent. I don't think the dress did her any favours the cut and material didn't seem right for her, slightly more shape to it and a less heavy material would have been better. Loved the gospel choir. Gave up after that and went in the garden

"Two people in love are getting married, how can anyone complain about that? "

Well I can as I'm paying towards it.

The royal wedding is the epitome of everything that is wrong with society. People come out in hordes waving coloured bits of cloth on the end of a stick to celebrate the greed and indulgence of the super wealthy while the homeless are swept away like garbage because they might offend the elite.

It really is like we’ve fallen through a time hole into an age where nobody questions the utterly bizarre situation that in a modern country in 2018 some people get given a load of castles, servants and treasure simply because of a magic penis; then the rest of us are expected to bow down in front of them.

Mind you it’s even more bizarre that people accept it.

Couldn't agree more. We don't have the tax pounds to improve the NHS or schools for our children. The elderly are left frail and alone and we have a genuine poverty line with food banks being utilised more than ever. Vast unemployment with massive homeless issues.

It's a slap in the face to every tax payer and people love it because it's "Cute".

I don't think it's the epitome of everything wrong with our society at all. Take away the Royal family and Shit will still go on in this country. The Royal family don't make people eat like pigs, sit on their fat arses and breed do they. Prince Harry works.

Nobody expects people to bow down before the Royal family, people who do choose to.

People go out in their masses for football and pop stars ect.

Everyone to their own,if people want to get happy by watching the Royal Wedding than good luck to those people.

Skinflint? Miserable? Ahh. The insults from a person who simply disagrees with another. Then by all means donate your hard earned cash to the Fabulously wealthy.

I'd rather help those genuinely suffering through cancer, parents who, through no fault of their own can't give their kids a proper Christmas. People who lost everything in Greenfell.

Deserving cases.

So when tourists come to the UK do they buy things, stay in places and pay for services? Of course they do. And do those people pay tax? Yes, so to answer your question, yes indirectly it benefits all though services.

If you don’t believe in it, that’s your choice. Not asking anyone to become a Royalist believe me! It’s simple economics.

Of course you can be proud to be British. You don’t have to accomplish personally to be proud. I’m proud to be British however I’m not proud of some Britons.

Two people got married. Lovely. I wish them luck. Did I watch them get married? No. Neither did I watch any of the other weddings which took place today.

Was it deliberately conjured up to try and give the gloomy brexiting British public something to smile about? You bet it was. That's a shame. Never a good start to a marriage when you get married to please someone else.

Some interesting views and we're all entitled to our view .

I can't call myself a royalist at all most of the people attending will never live like the rest of us worrying financially about tomorrow.

The royals and those attending are in a very privileged position and I understand the views here of costs involved and who should pay ?

I'm on the fence here as the income they bring in to the country is tremendous !

Yet lefties here who voted to stay in the EU don't mind paying 55 million per day Into the club so we can fund every other country's big European projects while our own hospitals and NHS are on their knees ? Yet they'll talk about Grenfell

Proud to be british? Becsuse of a wedding?

And who will see any of that cash? Hospitals? Public services? Those in genuine poverty and hardship? Pfft.

80% of the wealth generated worldwide in 2017 went to 1% of the population. Source Oxfam.

So I still say that any income generated by this event and tourism in general will, as usual, benefit the wealthy way more than the rest of us.

As for the royals. I don't have a problem with them. It's the rest of the pyramid between me and them that gets up my nose. I saw a book once on how to be a king/queen and all it detailed was the amount of people you'd have to kill to get there

"Two people in love are getting married, how can anyone complain about that?

As a taxpayer you'll find it's my money too, there's more important things in life than hard cash. Get over yourself and stop being such a skinflint.

Skinflint? Miserable?

Deserving cases of course but you're not taking into account the benefits to the nation as a whole, economically and in boosting morale (excepting your good self of course).

I'd much rather we spent our stirling on a bit of pomp and ceremony than sending yet more of our boys to Kabul.

I'm not a royal fan but I'm an old romantic.

I think Harry and William looked dashing. I felt for her mum being the sole family member. Thought the preacher would never shut up but could have listened to more of the cellist.

Meghan looked better arriving at the hotel. Didn't look like she made any effort and her dress was boring.

That said loved the pomp and ceremony. The crowds along the long walk were breathtaking and I wish them every happiness.

I read this on facefuck yesterday..

•Volunteered for 2 tours of Afghanistan.

•Set up Invictus games helping wounded service personal.

° Numerous unpaid charity volunteer appointments all over the world.

•Family brings in 400 million a year in private revenue that under the “ sovereign act 2011” the government keeps £360 million of.

•Family brings in £1.8 billion per year in tourism.

•Country better off by £2.1 billion a year.

Remind me how the wedding is waste of tax payers money ?

° The wedding is paid for by the Royal heritage and private funding not the tax payer and that includes her dress!

° The tax payer will pay for the public security not private security. The same way the tax payer pays for public security at football matches etc.

I’ve also read just briefly there is about 30 millions tax payers in Britain and I am one of them, I certainly am not complaing with having spent about 50p to find their big day (if the above is untrue). If they would like to send me an invoice, I will happily pay it. Yes the money (again if the above is untrue) could have been better spent elsewhere but if you take all the shops,

Pubs, hotels etc around the area, I am pretty sure they have made a pretty decent income over the past week, not

To mention the travel industry etc.

We all have our different opinions on this matter and maybe it’s time for an ‘opt out’ of paying the 63p per year for the royals but really? You can’t eben buy a chocolate bar for that these days. Maybe an idea is ‘opt out of paying for the royals box’ and put ‘pay this extra money to the nhs’ box needs to be put on a form? This way all the haters of the royals can them be happy that their very small contribution is going to a ‘better place’.

I enjoyed it. Thought she looked elegant and classy though the train length on the veil did nothing for me. There were beautiful outfits worn by some lady guests, i enjoyed the 1940’s looking ones and the less grand hats.

She looked happy, he looked pensive to start but more relaxed once she’d arrived.

I hope they enjoy the rest of their day and have a happy and healthy marriage.

Was it deliberately conjured up to try and give the gloomy brexiting British public something to smile about? You bet it was. That's a shame. Never a good start to a marriage when you get married to please someone else. "

"I read this on facefuck yesterday..

Geeky x

"

Yes Geeky

I will quite happily pay my share of taxes towards the Royal family. I'm certain they bring in far more revenue to the country than they take for themselves.

I'm quite a big fan of the royals, I don't follow then religiously but still fond of then and I think they help the country more than hinder it.

I didn't plan on watching the wedding bit still managed to see parts of it and it looked really nice and lovely

Estimated TV audience of 2bn people. That will bring in loads more cash than what it cost. Just imagine all the holidays being booked to the UK already!

Proud to be British. History, class, style. It had the lot.

She looked hot too!

Proud to be british? Becsuse of a wedding?

And who will see any of that cash? Hospitals? Public services? Those in genuine poverty and hardship? Pfft.

So I still say that any income generated by this event and tourism in general will, as usual, benefit the wealthy way more than the rest of us. "

She's mad ~ there was bunting up and she'd done me a party bag with a flag, a crown, teabag and a badge in. I love my friend!!

We thought the dress was simple but stunning, Harry looked nervous to start with, the kids looked gorgeous, and DB We felt a bit sorry for the mother of the bride and thought Prince Philip looked like he was at deaths door. Queenies outfit got the seal of approval to

"Horrible dress she looked very plain no effort made with make up..I wonder if she will get set to Paris lol

I didn't think it was a horrible dress, but I did think it was a bit plain as well as the bridesmaids dresses mind. They were elegant and beautiful I just wanted to see a bit more, especially the bridesmaids.

Who's talking about Hollywood glamour or playboy mansion,I just would have liked to have seen a bit more design?! "

I thought it was very understated too.

I would have liked to see more on the dress but the veil was exquisite I thought.

I blubbered my way through it at the thought that they’re so happy and that I am lucky to have felt the magic of a similar day myself, surrounded by those you love. I am honestly so happy for anyone who decides this is their journey ( and we all have independent choices).

I wish them peace, happiness and fucking great sex!

I wish them well obviously but it really means nothing to me. I don't know them.

I feel quite sorry for them all in some ways. All very privileged but have no way of just being themselves. Judged for everything they wear, say and do. It's not a life I'd ever want.

That said, anything that brings people together and makes them happy is always a good thing.

Wow just wow how so many people ignorant to facts about how stuff was paid.

Yet no fuckers complain about how much of our money is spent policing pisses up idiots on a weekend of sporting events up and down the country all year round.

And also the fact that regardless how much was spent from the tax payer only on security as everything else was paid by the royal family.

The revenue from tv rights tourism and all the traded people employed for the event and all the lo am businesses making extra money as well.

It was a great event and was great for out country it's as simple as that.

And if this offends anyone so what.

"Two people in love are getting married, how can anyone complain about that?

As a taxpayer you'll find it's my money too, there's more important things in life than hard cash. Get over yourself and stop being such a skinflint.

Skinflint? Miserable?

And do you?

I hope you say yes otherwise what's the point in writing what you did?

And anyone who despises their tax money paying for a Royal wedding are free to move to a different country which doesn't have a Royal family.

The Royal Family is part of what our country is...so what if they are more privelidged than us...we are more privelidged than about 3 billion people on this planet!!

Well said!

A wonderful day for everyone who enjoyed it whether there in person or watching it on Telly.

Another example of how we British can put on an Event with all the Pomp and Ceremony that we're famed for across the world.

Yes, we'll always have the detractors, the whingers and miserable gits who wish to live in their own little worlds or would like to impose other political regimes or ideals.

Thus, if they prefer such ideas, then please kindly Bugger Off to those countries which extol those regimes or virtues and try it for yourselves and see how you like it. If it doesn't work for you, you are welcome back to see how we do things here in the UK.

We may not get it right some of the time but we do a lot of good most of the time and we do it very well, just like what we witnessed today in the Royal Wedding.

Britain is great!

Personally I'm for in for any reason to fly our flag with pride as we don't have much left in terms of patriotism.

Yet lefties here who voted to stay in the EU don't mind paying 55 million per day Into the club so we can fund every other country's big European projects while our own hospitals and NHS are on their knees ? Yet they'll talk about Grenfell

and the help needed here ?

It's a strange philosophy !!
