Anyone missheard lyrics of songs or thought when hearing a song for the first time that the singer is female instead of male or vice versa?.
I remember when i was a kid, the radio used to play Air supply - all out of love quite a bit, and i always thought the chorus was sung by a woman, it turned out it was a bloke with a high pitched voice. |

The shoes on my feet
I've bought it
The clothes I'm wearing
I've bought it
The rock I'm rockin
I've bought it
It sounds like
The shoes on my feet
Alf Garnett
The clothes I'm wearing
Alf Garnett
The rock I'm rockin
Alf Garnett
I depend on meat

Id often heard the song IOU by Freeze but never seen them or seen the video until last week. Id often assumed the lead singer was black because of the high notes he reached, and was amazed he was a blond hair white bloke. |

Think of us poor buggers in the 1970`s trying to listen to the then embrionic Radio One on poor MW reception with a crap tranny that had a tinny/wooly speaker and iffy batteries! No wonder I always thought that Desmond Decker sang :_
"Get up in the morning
Baked beans for breakfast
So that everyone can be fed
Ohhhhhh ohhhhhhh
Me ears are alight!" |
