Didn't have any knowledge of the word at all so checked Google, "a boy kept for homosexual practices" is what came up! Apparently from Greek mythology, Zeus abducted an attractive Trojan boy to Mount Olympus as a cup bearer who later became his lover" amazing what you can learn! |

Yes. So what's the joke/inaccuracy in the series? |

"Re-watching The Black Adder the word Catamite came up and since the episode was about religion thought it was a religious term, it isn't!
"
Incidentally what did you think of it? I can't watch it as it's such a weak prototype for the real Blackadders. The odd moment though I like the Queen of Spain's Beard and whenever Brian Blessed is on screen. |

Without doubt that series hasn't stood the test of time compared to the others. Prefer Blackadder as the intelligent evil sinister one like in subsequent series and Bladrick is much better as the stupid naive one.
Forgot who asked but thought that Catamite, because of the way it was said by Harry that it was a flock particular to the Arch bishop, honest, guv'nor. (See, didn't know that that's the way to spell guv'nor!)
