It’s pronounced wowwey (Huawei)!
Yeah, very good phones, if I was doing everything on Mac for work purposes I might just change to the P20. Their phones get better and better, Samsung always break and although have beautiful screens I wouldn’t have one. If you’re on Android then the P20 needs to be at the top of your list for phones to have! |

It was ok but the memory wasn't big enough for the apps and it was a little slow, hopefully they have worked all the glitches out now. |

Well I would definitely not put that past the CCP. As a default setting I kind of assume that most Chinese electronics. But then they wouldn't be the only government using technology to spy and save data. If your serious about protecting your digital rights, anonymity and privacy you need to take precautions with what ever device you use.
As for their products I have a tablet from them. It is excellent bang for your buck. And the build quality looks, feels and is excellent quality for that price range. I assume all their products are of a similar value for momey. Have you looked at sites like techradar for reviews of the product? They can give good detailed information on what the phone is like in many areas. |

I've got a P10 Lite. Smashed my contract phone so picked one up for £200 and it's really decent.
There's a deal on Hot UK Deals atm which is smoking hot for the P20 on contract. Well worth a look if, like me, you chew all your data up every month and end up having to buy more.

I've had mine almost 4 years and still going strong. Only slight issue is that the battery now drains quicker than it used to.
Camera etc all good, and in my mind better than the Samsung S5 I had previously. |

I'm actually thinking of getting one. I know my tech and keep upto fate with phones mostly but I'm stumped here.
Looking at the new huawei mate 20 pro as it has a fingerprint scanner on the screen and has an incredible camera like the P20 pro. Both are great phones and huawei are becoming a tech giant these days as they just took over Samsung's market share(I read somewhere).

I've had one for the last few years. It's the best phone I've had. Dual sim so one number for work and one for personal, works great. 128gb SD card so storage, especially for music is plentiful and camera is great.
Never had an issue with it. It's been fantastic. |

No I have a Xiaomi is the 4th largest mobile brand, before than I had jiayu and before than various others. Not keen on Huawei design, Xiaomi is better looking and cheaper.
Chinese phones are better than the Samsung and years ahead of apple. All my phone's have been Chinese for over 15 years now, they just get better and better.
Which is why there is thousands of brands in china while in the UK you see like 5 brands, limited choice in the UK. Buy direct from China if you want choice. |

Chinese brand phones seem to contain a lot of bloatware so data mining could be a feasible objection. Having said that, when I owned a P10 I loved it besides the glass enclosure as it heated up quite easily. I chose Samsung after that phone for personal reasons. I think Huawei have succeeded in bettering their Korean counterparts but still won't buy their phones. |

They make great phones and are priced better than other top brands. I'm wary of their new models that have no Google app store access though.
I run an older one and am really happy with it. Ive no bloat on it and have it set up a I prefer it to be. |

I ditched my iPhone for a P30 Pro last year. I can quite honestly say it's a fabulous phone!
I was very dubious about leaving iOS for Android operating system but it was totally painless. I don't download games and crap from Google Play but everything else runs seamlessly. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

We both have one 30 pro. The only thing we don't like is they have removed the back button function so to go back you have to swipe across the front of the fone. Other than that they are great phones with good build quality, fantastic camera and very quick to recharge. Xx |

That is also a big factor. Most people don't care about potential harm until it is on their own doorstep and that harm is tangible. Hence climate change I guess. |

I currently have the mate 20 pro. Cannot fault it at all. Superb camera, light, premium feel and has Google play store. I think this was the last one to have it unless p30 was.
Huawei certainly knows how to make great phones and in the beginning they were reasonable priced.
However,I f they were to stop with Google play, I would either buy another Huawei and would need to root to gain access or throw my money at one plus. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

It's not so much that they have dumped the google store so much as that Google are clamping down on unlicensed handsets and Huawei are reluctant to pay for the licensing. Huawei were always the budget end of the market, but most of the internals are generic parts common to lots of phones.
I've had lots of phones over the years and the old Nokia's were the only ones that lasted. HTC were also a rubust phone and took a lot of abuse, if you break a screen on an HTC it can be replaced, but the screen is stuck into the frame and once replaced the frame loses rigidity making it much more susceptible to screen breakages.
I've tried cherap Chinese phones (Doogee etc) and while they are relatively cheap, they are effectively disposable and not worth replacing a damaged screen etc.
My current way of working is to buy a second hand iPhone which is cheaper than a new Android, even the cheap Chinese knock offs and cheap to replace a screen or battery.
While I'm not a fan of the iOS and much prefer Androis, I have found the old iPhone to be robust. |
