Ok... I've a meet for the weekend and she's thrown down the gauntlet. Were to make each other the best sandwich for the drive there. She loves tuna... but and here's the caveat! She doesn't like
butter
Tomatoecheese
Cucumber
Onions
Red meat
Spicy peppers
celery
Help me out guys. She can work with everything except rhubarb
There might be a reward for best sandwich especially if it wins.... my meet may be riding on it. |

I don't like butter or margarine either and have salad cream on my sandwiches instead. Does she like salad cream?
I often have tuna and salad cream sandwiches and egg and salad cream sandwiches. |

"You got any sweet chilli sauce? Bit of that. Bit of gem lettuce. Some thinly cut spring onion.
She'll jump you then and there. "
No onions but like the sweet chilly sauce idea. |

"You can't beat a woman at making sanwiches, they're born with sandwich making skills "
Was told to beat both of them in the sandwich two weeks ago They seemed to accept it willingly...lol
But seriously it be really amiss of me to not rise to her challenge and give her what she wants. |

Egg and tuna sounds odd, but I eat neither so I'll keep quiet |

"Easy, crisp butty wins every time.
Ready salted crisps and some salad cream instead of butter, or salt and vinegar with tomato sauce."
Just what I was going to say. Any flavour with mayo would be my advise |

Well how longs the drive? Don't want these sambos turning manky/use a cool bag maybe?
Make her a chicken and brown sauce sandwich.
Have a crisp sandwich on standby to, you can never go wrong with a crisp sambo. instead of butter a bit of mayo maybe. |

"Tuna, mayo with avacado and a bit of salt and pepper. "
That might be a winner as she now loves avocado after making her egg holondaise a few weeks ago for lunch. Might add a few slices of boiled egg too in a trial tonight.
Salad cream or mayo?
Croissant, crispy roll or thick granary bread?
I've coconut butter instead of ordinary butter to use. |

Best sandwich I ever had was a really gooey egg mayonnaise with the crispiest bacon strips on a soft white bloomer with really crusty crusts....epic! Shame red meat is off the menu - my other favourite I used to make my clients was wafer thin slivers of roast beef in horseradish mayonnaise with sliced tomato!!
I'd probably go for roast chicken mayo with deli style coleslaw, or tuna mayo with chopped red bell peppers, corn and some green leaves! |

Chicken mayo and avocado works well too, maybe with a bit of tex-mex seasoning. |

Thanks everyone for interesting inputs.
I've just made them.
Tuna with chopped up roasted peppers, red pesto, sweet chilly sauce, mayo, sliced seedless grapes , lettuce, sliced up olives, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper.
Two daughters over loved it so here's fingers crossed. |

Yep... its all about proportions One should try and Taylor each meet towards the one you're meeting. Some women rest to impress...Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Here's hoping. |
