We all have aspirations. Jobs which we wanted to do, but for whatever reason couldn't weather it would be financial or timely.
I wanted to be a paramedic, always have, but couldn't face the thought of doing a Uni course at my age
What was/is your dream job? And what has stopped you?

It's made me a bit sad to read that. Have you completely ruled out becoming a paramedic? |

I missed my eldest first smile, steps everything due to work. So with my youngest (twins) I have held back my goals. Its one of those things, you only live once, but I want to see my kids as much as possible, my shifts at the moment aren't great, but I make sure I see them before they go to school etc.. And I can't see me starting a new career because I love the buggers to much xx |

I like being semi retired can work if the price and mood is right have the choice of jobs that please me.

"Freelance gynaecologist"
Well there are certainly plenty of gynaecological photographs for you to study on here!
As for me, an actress, writer or artist |

We are both working at jobs which we enjoy and wouldn't want to swap for another. The hours we work suit us both. If you don't enjoy the job you're doing, it may be worth looking for something you want to do, or going back to college to get the qualifications you need for the job you want like I (Mr2) did. |

The money is alright when the going is good, but in 2008 during the crash I was only pulling in £300 a week and working like a Japanese prisoner of war for it.
Plus, it ain't that clean. Not unless you just doing testing. Installation (especially first fix) can get pretty mucky |

I wanted to be Kate Adie when I was little. I used to practice my “....for BBC News, Mogadishu” in front of the mirror with a hairbrush for a microphone - fully aware that all normal little girls of a similar age were doing similar yet pretending to be Kylie or Madonna. |

Footballer or a fireman! Didn’t get that break with the football so played a decent non league level then ended up being a road worker! Can’t even say Iv tried to become a firefighter I think it’s a case of not believing I could get in but I have huge amounts of respect for what they do |

It’s not that bad.... if you do it through a trust you get paid to do it. Lots of people do it in their 30’s / 40’s now. East of England are currently taking on student paras. Don’t know if I’m allowed to post the link, but it’s on NHS jobs.
Salary is misleading (you actually get a lot more than the base rate because of the unsocialable hours payment)

At this stage of my life I pretty much have my dream job . Would have loved to be a professional footballer but would certainly have cocked that up with extra curricular activities. |

I always wanted to be a dog handler in the Raf.. Only stumbling block was that I wasn't a man. This was in the 80s ,probably 3 years after, they changed the rules to allow women but I had a job then and never pursued it. |

To be a pilot in the Raf was my dream as a wee lad. Unfortunately dashed early upon discovering from the recruiter that suffering from migraines ruled me out.

Having a passion for metalworking and lately watching Forged in Fire on Blaze, Blacksmithing rather than Bladesmithing but the alchemy nonetheless intrigues me. Would happily pack in my current job to do this at the Living wage rate. |

I’d love to be a psychologist, but I think I’d just end up analysing people too much.
Will be working on something towards music industry soon, now I’ve got a steady income and fixed hours. Time to pick up the guitar! |

Fighter pilot. But my parents split up when I was in the middle of my O levels. So had to get a job after exams were finished to help mum get by financially. Joined the army a couple years later though so still got to do my bit for Queen and country.
Although CEO of a major bank would be good. Get paid a shit ton of money, be shit at my job, get sacked, get a shit ton of money as severance. |
