I know what it means I was asking what the process was.

So you've got an agreement with the couple that you'll be involved with the child's upbringing providing both financial and emotional support for the child?

Just be careful if you're going down this unofficial route, you would technically through DNA be the child's father which would enable you to be on the birth certificate and be stung for maintenance. They could move away and not want the sperm donar to have anything to do with the child and may want to raise it themselves as parents.

Don't know who has been taken advantage of most in this situation, the couple who are so desperate for a child they'll take a random strangers spunk in a cup, or you being so desperate to be a Father that you agree to this. Was proper medical screening done before this, do the couple know that the conditions you have with dyslexia and Aspergers are hereditary?

This is another example of the forum commending things that shouldn't be commended.

Its not about that, or you.

I get that your judgement is clouded by your own experience though.

It might be private, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been done through a clinic. You didn't wait to hear any answers though, just ranted.

You think it's been done through a clinic or by now do you think that _eeside is quite direct in what he says and no a NHS private arrangement is just that, an arrangement between just him and the couple.

Seeside correct me if I'm wrong, have you done this through a clinic?

Because you've stated many times you have hardly any family or friends to really sit you down and have a good talk with you.

With any decision in life there are pros and cons and you must consider the cons just as much as the positives.

This isn't about you refusing to take off your shirt, this is a potential human being.

You've put it on an open forum for people to discuss, whenever I post something and people comment I don't just ignore the stuff that isn't what I want to hear as sometimes and more often than not, the stuff you don't want to hear is the most important part.

You're refusal to say if it's been done correctly through a clinic can only be assumed that you haven't.

I hope it works out for you I do, but there's nothing wrong in me telling you to be careful and make sure you know everything that this involves cos this is a child not a moustache or a Hawaiian shirt.

Oh my. Having watched your posts for a while i have a lot of respect for the general way you deal with any issues you have _eeside..

That being said without knowing the complete ins and outs of this arrangement(no pun intended) it's impossible to condone it.

I hope for your own sake you have taken all legal precautions to protect yourself and the child in every eventuality in the childs best interests?

With all due respect until you have experienced being a father you can't comprehend the lengths you would go to to protect your own child, so for instance if you strongly disagree with something that is happening with the little one as it's biological father do you have any "legal" say?

I don't mean to sound negative here but when it comes to protecting little people parents loose all sense of moral obligations towards other adults..i would without a moments pause throw any adult under a bus to protect my two boys as would most parents...just be aware please.

It is private so no NHS or clinics ect but that don't meen no one don't put safely 1st.

Thay are married so both thar names will be on the birth certificate so teknikley I'm not a parent. And as a donor im exzempt from chiled surport. but as its private not NHS this meens that i can still see the child and be in its life

Help out ect...

Everyone has Thar own up to date tests witch thay shear and all medical problems are also talked about. So thay no about all my medical conditions as i do thars. And thay wos Verry happy to continue As wos i.

This is your life Seeside. Sometimes it may be hard sometimes it may be good.

I don't know how this will work out for you but I wish you peace and happiness and the strength to live your future in the way that suits you.

If others disagree with your choices simply remind them they have their own lives to live and remember those who do not approve of or question your choices have their reasons their opinions but only you knows what's right for you.

Ok so couple more questions that I assume you would have discussed in your long chat.

Who would they say you are to the child so as not to provide confusion?

Do you have a say in any cultural or religious beliefs?

Would you be available throughout the child's life should any medical decisions need to be made?

Will you be allowed to buy things for the child and be there for birthdays and Xmas?

Do you have any say in where the child lives, what if they wanted to live abroad?

What if they changed their mind and didn't want you involved, how would you legally have a right to see the child?

What if they turned out to be bastards and think hang on this guy is the dad through DNA lets get some maintenance from him which without having any official guidance or protection, you would be liable for it.

This is a major thing and there are probably 100's more things that need to be discussed.

I have to agree with others on this thread, you're a great sounding guy but a verbal private agreement is worth absolutely nothing. If you don't have legal papers they can, at any point, force a DNA test and try to get money from you. I appreciate and commend you helping couples out that cannot get pregnant but the proper protocols and safety nets used through the proper channels are there for a reason. It's to protect both donor and couple

I know someone who was a surrogate twice for the same couple from Italy. She got 25k first time 35k second.H we reason was mostly financial Which is cool if you can do it.

I suppose what your doing is better than some random spern donor. They know what you look like and who you are and any family medical issues. It makes more sense than a random.

"What's the process for A.I then, how much involvement is the donar to have?

Well AI meens Artificial insemination.

So in short a pot and a syringe.

As for involvement.

Cos its private not NHS its down to personal agreement with me and the couple. Witch wos made before anything started to happen.

So in short i still get to see the child

This is another example of the forum commending things that shouldn't be commended. .

Witch is mor than sum can say.

If you got nuthing good or nice to post pleas don't bother posting. As i won't be responding to them from now on

Although I’m happy you’re getting what you want. There is nothing wrong with someone telling you to be careful and just because she asked you a few questions which you don’t like, doesn’t make it negative.

A lot of people will just say congratulations and move on, but at least somebody has taken the time to point out potential risks and problems down the line. They’re the kind of people you should listen to when making a big choice like this "

I agree,I hope things work out how you want and everyone involved is happy, but it sounds an absolute minefield with so many questions.

I presume everything has been fully looked into and the legal side has been understood. Congratulations.

Why would you not be on the birth certificate, surely you can't put another person on it if they didn't actually make the child.

I actually get your trepidation and concerns for future events but I’m guessing all that concerns the Op is the here and now . There’s nothing wrong with taking a situation like this one day at a time . There are or will be four people involved in this which means there will be lots of anomalies and changes to the plan . But it sounds to me that he is kicking this off on a positive note and that’s all you can do in such a unusual situation . Good luck fella I think it’s a good thing you’ve done for two other people

Because he is not married to the woman , he has no claim to be on the birth certificate. The mother has the right to name who she likes on that certificate. If he had a parental responsibility order then he would have a right but he can’t get one of those until the baby is born . It’s complicated and a minefield .

Yes I think men have more rights than they used to . I was an unmarried Father and although with the Mother I was shocked to find that I had no legal right to be on the birth certificate . Hence why I applied for parental responsibility . This allows you the same rights as the Mother . Ie ,, she can’t just take the child out of the country or even worse have the child adopted . I’d hazard a guess OP does not want a parental responsibility order as in reality the woman could actually come back on him for maintenance . All this is a minefield . I’m not sure how I would feel knowing I had a child running about and I had little or no input

You're fine then. In terms of any future financial responsibility. If they had not been married or in a civil partnership, you would have been the legal father and any written agreement to the contrary would have been legally worthless.

Hope you have some sort of contract in place just in case the couples split and they come after you for maintenance, one of the reasons I have discouraged my son from going this route. He says he has Lesbian friends queuing up for his sperm. .

I mean this with respect, I say lots of crazy stupid shit that you could dig me out on, don't use this _eeside thing as a way to show your distaste towards me.

Encouraging and agreeing all the time is more harmful than good. That goes for everyone. Maybe I think too much or maybe I just actually care too much but knowing that this forum is the place where he interacts with people the most and doesn't have much family or many close friends to pull him up on anything, it's kind of our duty to offer alternative ways of thinking and offer help or advice and make sure all options and possibilities have been discussed and considered.

This confuses me? Why would the couple need you for Artificial insemination?Wouldnt the husband of sufficed?

Not if he doesn't produce sperm. "

Is this the case _eeside? or are you still going quiet...

This is another example of the forum commending things that shouldn't be commended. .

Y must you BOO BOO everything...

I'm not going to arnsar your follow up questions as I'm shor your just going to try and complain.

At lest i want kids and the child will no me.

Witch is mor than sum can say.

Now I'm ending this conversation.

If you got nuthing good or nice to post pleas don't bother posting. As i won't be responding to them from now on

So i take it you've been pulled on your shit now?

Bit late to not answer questions....is this because every word is a lie?"

I actually believe this to be true and there's asking questions that are valid and appropriate and then there's being nasty. He needs to be told stuff but not abused.

"Congrats ive helped two couples in past same way both boys.

That's excellent, maybe you could share your experience so he knows what to expect.

Agreed i was very careful in making sure couples were decent both lesbian couples as well and do have legal papers in place in case of comeback but i cant see it

Were the couples married or in a civil partnership?

One civil partnership getting married soon other married

You're fine then. In terms of any future financial responsibility. If they had not been married or in a civil partnership, you would have been the legal father and any written agreement to the contrary would have been legally worthless.

Yes exactly hence why i made sure they were both married or civil partnership first i never would of done it if single."

And this is wot i did to

Congratulations! Although I do read this with some concern as others have stated. You really do need to get things put in writing, verbal agreements are all well and good but without anything physical (other than the child of course) I do worry about you.

I am interested to know how you met this couple etc? How long you had been in contact with them etc before the deed happened etc, I do wish you all the happiness in the world (and not trying to ‘piss on your chips’ lol) but after seeing some of your posts I do worth about it, did you seek advice beforehand from anyone else in this position or medical or indeed professional, legal advice?

Like I say, I do wish you all the best and I hope it all goes well.

Geeky x

I wouldn’t have posted such a topic on the forums Seeside.

You’re opening yourself up to a lot of criticism.

Sorry but I think this could all end up negative for you and will no doubt confuse the child.

I can also see the married couple causing you issues as in not letting you see the child or if they split they will force a paternity test and claim maintenance from you.

Seeside, good luck and hopefully you will take some of the advice on here and make sure you have all the conditions of this agreement in writing.

I don't think Seeside is stupid he is just dyslexic and has Aspergers, doesn't mean he can't make important decisions, albeit with the help of qualified people, as we all do, at times.

Being a sperm donor is not being a dad. Giving your spunk in a cup to random people off the Internet doesn’t strike me as a great idea.

Why are so many people saying congratulations for spunking in a cup? Madness.

Why would a couple even want the sperm donor involved In the kids life? You’ve no legal legs to stand on. You could never see the kid and get stung for maintenance payments the next 18 years.

Doesn’t there need to be tests for hereditary conditions and legal paperwork drawn up?

One step at a time. If you want to be a father then first step is to find a girl. Fall in love. Marry her (or not). Then have a baby together.

Find out your legal rights. Have a think too because bringing humans into the world isn’t a joke.

Say they didn’t want the baby when it’s born. Could you support and bring up a kid on your own?

"I find this no different to those weirdos who ask for "breeding".

personally i think this whole thread is a troll...

Not to put anyone down...but i wouldnt want a kid with a guy who smells of fish & chips and can barely spell...ooh and who also met said couple on a swingers site...

I wasn't aware he met them on a swingers site, even if he did, what's the problem with that?

No problem where he met them at all, be they fellow swingers or not as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure they have everything in place and wish them all the best of luck.

How can you be sure?

None of us can, only they know if they have or not as the case may be. They are all adults so I would hope they have. Maybe sure was the wrong word to use.

Quite right, they are all adults and there have been some good points on here for Seeside to consider

But he's not going to consider any of them, especially when so many people kiss his cheek to finger his arse. He won't listen, I know this now.

Well there's not much more people can do then, it's his choice whether he takes advice or not "

We all have choices in life and should respect other people's choices just as we would like them to respect ours.

"Doesn’t there need to be tests for hereditary conditions and legal paperwork drawn up?2....not if its done privately...which is why there could be potential problems in future. I hope it all goes well, but defintiely try and see a legal advisor, because the point about doing it all under the radar, means that there is none of the automatic protection there would be if it was done properly.

You know I was thinking the same thing. There have been cases where things have gone tits up for the very reason you've stated.

Sadly no one wants to appear to be a party pooper and rain on somebodies parade but I don't think these types of "agreements" are workable in the long run.

That's seems a more friendlier way of doing it, than the sonar and child never knowing.

What a bloody nice bloke you are mate!

This confuses me? Why would the couple need you for Artificial insemination?Wouldnt the husband of sufficed?"

Or Mabey both of the couple are female

"Seeside, good luck and hopefully you will take some of the advice on here and make sure you have all the conditions of this agreement in writing.

I don't think Seeside is stupid he is just dyslexic and has Aspergers, doesn't mean he can't make important decisions, albeit with the help of qualified people, as we all do, at times.

"

Thanks

After reading this whole thread, I just want to say, Seeside, things may seem completely great now, but further down the line things could change, and you need to make sure to cover yourself. Just go and seek a bit of advice beforehand like from the Citizens Advice. People can have the best of intentions, but life gets in the way.

Seeside. Do watch ITV This Morning on catch up today on at 10.40. Very interesting talk on the Super sperm donor. May give you some useful advice and safe guards.
