I have two :-
I was lucky to see Joe Cocker just before he died at Hammersmith apollo. That man had such an amazing voice.
Johnny Cash in the 1980s at Wembley Conference Centre.

Not best overall but saw James Brown supporting the Chilis, for which I (Mr) am truly grateful!
Biased towards Pearl Jam, seen them 6 times already and got 3 shows in Europe and 1 in Boston this summer; however if pushed it would have to be the Roses. Saw them twice in the last few years and although the sound maybe isn't what it once was, any gig that unites that many people with a feeling of love and togetherness, well that's up there.
Love and peace x |

There and to the left a bit |
There have been so many down the years that have been excellent (Green Day last year, on the barrier for Biffy Clyro, a few Muse gigs, first time seeing The Specials on their comeback tour and numerous others)..
... but the one that would be my Groundhog Day would be Madness' comeback gig "Madstock" in 1992 - was their first gig in 6 years, caused an earthquake and was both emotional and downright excellent in so many ways. |

"Kasabian as the support act for oasis at Heaton Park.
Coldplay at Wembley was also up there.
Kasabian are brilliant live. Too many gigs "
I had heard of Kasabian before the gig but wasn't really that bothered about seeing them. I'm so glad I did. They were amazing and so much better than Oasis who I have seen so many times. |

"Black sabbath were amazing, ozzy is a great showman.
Linkin park at the 02n unforgettable. Had members of their fan club come on stage and play along side them "
Not lucky enough to see them in their prime but even on the 'final' tour, Ozzy can still wail.

Been to loads over the years, Led Zep, AC/DC with Bon Scott, Queen with Freddie, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and that's just scratching the surface, but one of the best was Jean Michel-Jarre at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona in '93 ![](/icons/s/cool.gif) |

Prince and the NPG - Dublin. The Gold Experience tour circa 1995. Band mingled with the crowd beforehand. None of the hits. It was like finding gold. Magical. |

Iv been to hundreds of gigs over the years. Most fantastic, love live music. Last gig was the Stereophonics in Leeds in march this year, about the 9th time we have seen them, they were awsome as always. Probably the most memorable was the year Leicester won the Prem title. Just after we won it we saw Kasabian at the KP stadium, they are massive LCFC fans, it was a dream come true. A few days later we saw the Stereophonics at Leeds, brilliant as always, then a few days after that we saw Coldplay at Man Citys stadium, hubby wore a LCFC shirt and had endless guys come and shake his hand, slap him on the back, hug him, kiss him to congratulate him on Leicester winning the title, you would have thought hubby played for Leicester lol. We had seen each group many times before but it was a memorable 8 days following on from our win ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Mine was the final tour. Ozzy had such a great connection with the fans, constantly saying thank you.
And they sounded perfect |

The Jam, many times up and down the country between '79 and '82 - those nights still live in my memory.
Also, in no particular order, Jesus & Mary Chain, Black Flag, New Order, Echo & the Bunnymen... slightly more recently PJ Harvey was excellent too |

"Sad to admit..... Wham! The Final at Wembley when it was the real Wembley "
Do NOT apologise!
As for me. Queen at Live Aid
Jesus and Mary Chain - came on two hours late, played 30 minutes of feedback whilst Bobby Gilespie hit shit out of a snare drum, through a cloak of dry ice and then fucked off. Brilliant.
Oh and Primal Scream but much chemicals had been imbibed. |

Did see the Clash, but not the 'real' Clash - after Mick Jones had been booted out. Still good but not the same. |

"I tend to prefer dirty, sweaty, up close gigs to concerts and Chk Chk Chk and Young Fathers are phenomenal live "
Agree - small, sweaty, all standing, with a sticky floor and a slightly threatening atmosphere - beats a theatre or a field every time |

My best concert was the Monsters of Rock concert Houston Texas in '92.. Saw Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, and Alice in Chains. I was second row, floor and was awesome. 2nd had to be Pink Floyd on their Pulse tour |

"Always a great question and always a hard one to answer. Having seen many bands and been to lots of gigs it's a tough one, but for some reason I always come back to New Model Army at the Marquee."
Saw them as support to Simple Minds 91/92 (along with Transvision Vamp) and got to agree. |

Stevie Wonder at the O2 about 10 years ago. His voice was going then but he was still amazing.
Or
John Legend in September, his voice live is amazing, but the crowd wasn't as good as it should have been. |

Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold at the NEC last January, was our middle son's 1st concert, but, Imagine Dragons in February this year was an extremely close second (and was our youngest autistic son's 1st concert), Iron Maiden in August may just top them all though !

I have seen lots of the big rock acts but 3 concerts which I will never forget are
Tom Waits when he came to London back in the 1980's, a very rare appearance, I was very lucky.
Ella Fitzgerald at the Royal Albert Hall, what a joy, what a voice.
Najee at the Apollo Theatre, Harlem. When that place is rocking it is like no place on earth. |

Ahh yess! Shikari!
I saw them them in 05 just before they released sorry your not a win er, in some tiny little pub.
Then a couple years later i saw them at a big show, sooooo crazy, so much energy! ( it was Halloween, straight after the show i stripped off in the street, got into my joker costume and went to a party at a dodgy club, good times!!)

I've seen hundreds if not thousands of gigs over the last 30 years si hard to narrow it down but I'd go for Mick Jones of the Clash, Wayne Kramer of MC5, Billy Bragg and Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters doing Clash and MC5 songs in a pub in camden. That was pretty surreal.
