Music and the way we consume it has changed, and with the revitalisation if the vinyl market. But can you remember the first CD you bought?

This may have been the time when you could buy it in 3 formats. Record a tape and the new (unscrachable) CD.

I remember my last tape would have been now that’s what I call music. I’m not sure if the number, but It had Jimmy Nail and the Shamen. Good times.

Fame - the album on record followed by first tapes Thriller and BeeGees. I wanted Thriller and the mother got herself the BeeGees to listen to on my first tape recorder. Fond memories

I also had far too many tapes of East 17 for a sane human. My older sister was madly in love with one of them and I got all of her collection when she grew past it lol.

First vinyl were 7" singles of It's My Party (Dave Stewart & Barbara Gaskin), Thunder In The Mountains (Toyah) and Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic (The Police) from K Two records in Chatham on my way home from school.

First cassette was I Just Can't Stop It (The Beat). Bought cheap from Boots in Maidstone because the cover was missing.

First CDs were Endless (Heaven 17), Disintegration (The Cure) and a compilation from a copy of HiFi World.
