Instand gratification instead of long winded searching to see if someone has interacted with you..

I'd prefer things to remain as un-Facebook like as possible to be honest.
Besides if there were a "like" button for forum posts you'd just get a similar situation to pic Fabbing where some single guys would take it as an indication of interest rather than a plain and simple appreciation of a post - so lots would avoid using it anyway.
As for an indication a message has been read, you have that already when it turns from yellow to white (that's if it's not marked unread again) |
