Why do people get so annoyed at random friend requests??

I don't get rage about them, I just block them. If someone can't be bothered to read my profile, then how do I know that they will listen to me and stop if requested if we actually meet.

We ignore them.

I did have a conversation with somebody we had chatted general pish with over a week or two who was most annoyed we wouldnt add him but seruiously we keep our friends list just for people we have met and are likely to meet again.... our updates can take half an hour to read we have that many friends!
