I’m sure you are. You do realise though that you may intend to be friendly, but if could still feel invasive to someone who’s not solicited it and has already not responded once. |

one or two normally, usually one, rarely try number two unless i see read and not deleted but really want to meet that person so will give a reattempt.
if your not interested and not going to reply at least click delete. it means alot more than see read and no reply. |

Depends on the circumstances. Someone I've met and have their personal number I have double messaged people in the past but I don't like to send another message if the previous one hasn't been responded to. |

I do only ever message once..
That said,
I have had replies from weeks later when the recipient has been clearing our their in box and found my message lurking way down the list, so perhaps there may be some milage in a second message to those where the message has not been read...
Still undecided on that though.. |

just because some say no thanks it dont mean they dont want to meet most couples and women get 100s of mail can only say yes to one ? if i did not want to meet someone its block ..no thanks is me saying im sorted thanks  |

After ignoring his first message 3wks ago, he sent the exact same a week later, I explained I'd ignored the first, so no thanks.
I've just received the exact same message again.
I wasn't so polite this time & then hit the block button.

I always look through the messages sent to my Mrs. She replies to virtually none. And in fact sometimes only if i point out good looking guys to her. It makes no difference how many times you messsge her, unless she likes the look of you, or i do, you're getting nowhere. So if you want to fill the server with unread mail, crack on! |

This thread is the reason a popular dating site was created.... it doesn’t allow men to message first..
I found not sending messages first is the best way to find success online... but be prepared for some shocking responses if you tell a couple or female no thank you. |

I keep messaging and begging until I'm blocked. Then I get another profile and start again. I'm hoping I'll wear them down eventually and then when they agree to meet, I'll not turn up and block them

I'd go as far to say if they don't reply at all/delete unread then consider it to be a no also. Leave it at that and chances are you won't be blocked. The reason why you'll never know, but it could be as simple as its bad timing.
Stay classy and just accept the implied rejection and move on. |

I usually take silence to mean ‘no’ and don’t usually try again. I might message again if someone posts a witty or interesting status and this has been successful for me; sometimes a long time after the original message. |

Send a first message. Then if I have no reply I can tell from their profile at the top. So don't bother again unless it's been a few months and a year in some cases. Tends to be slim pickings in the neck of the woods at times so thinking further afield might be the next course of action. |
