We have one outside camera at work that you can control and move the camera with a joy stick to look around the grounds, the problem we have with it is every evening as it is just getting dark, the camera spins around and faces the brick work of the building, and just sits like that all evening, if you face it forward again after a few seconds it turns it's self around again, question is why is it doing this, ?

A pre setting...

It's set with a timer and a location to view. You'll need admin rights to access and change the setting.

If it's an external cctv company tell them it's not right and get them to change it

I was thinking it was on a timer or something of that nature, are IT guys have looked at the settings and cant see anything they can alter, CCTV contractor wants £150 call out fee and £75 an hour if they go over the first hour.

Glue a mirror to the brickwork so it can see in the right direction

This is the reason why. For some reason you have a pre set applied.

What brand is it....?? Might be able to locate online manual...!

Could be worth removing cover, likely a torx 15.

Turn camera in housing and refit cover then it might point correct place in the evening.. it could have been out for something and the camera guy refitted it the wrong way the last time

The IT guys may not have full admin access... hence not allowed to change pre settings

just been down there tonight to turn of all the security lights as the IT guys thought it might be trying to turn towards the light, but I just turned them all off and still the same, looking at the image for the few seconds you can get it to face forward again it is very dark, so I am thinking it may not be an infrared camera, so cant focus in the dark so it just turns it's self off.

If it’s a stupid idea, but it works, it’s not stupid
