I admit to writing to Jim'll Fix It. I believe I wrote a few times for various different reasons.

He did the first ever episode of TOTP and raised a fortune for different charities.

RIP Mr Fix It

I didn't like the programme as a child but I think he was a truly selfless man, whose charitable contributions are incredible.

and No I didn't write in. Think my sister did but never got picked.

I loved watching him on top of the pop in the 70s. I never wrote to him on jim'll fix it but think my sister did. Then again she wrote to hugh grant after the incident with divine brown and offered to suck him off for free!!

RIP jimmy. A great man. Ms

I wrote letter after letter asking for silly things. Silly me never posted them- I used to use the old toilet paper / tracing paper from school to write my notes- never ever told anyone, I used to sit on the floor and imagine it was me having the surprise each week, he was amazing... Even in his older years I smiled when I saw him..

He must of been about 60'ish when I finally met him..

I had the pleasure of filming him at his flat once and asked to goto the loo- well sometimes nature calls lol. And when I came out he made everyone hide- I mean everyone !' they were all out in the hallway and he burst out jim fixed it for you... I roared laughing.. He was wonderful.

I heard recently someone called a BBC Ulster radio phone in saying:-

"I wish everyone would stop criticising Jimmy Savile. He was a nice man. When I was eight he fixed it for me to milk a cow blind-folded"
