Don't you just love them, not?!

What do they get out of telling other people where they have gone wrong, and what they should do about it, and are forever reminding people of their rights, and that they should complain more etc. etc...?

They drive me insane, and I have no time for them!

Rant over!

Unfortunately, those busy bodies also love their own voices.

It is unlikely I would ever meet them.

I ex-communicated with one such person recently, as he even moaned about the noises the farm animals made, when he was staying in a campsite with "Farm" as part of its name!!!

He also moaned about rabbits causing holes in the grass pitches and that they should be killed etc...!

And about the pigeons/owls making too much noise and kept him awake etc. etc...

So I told him I would not go camping with him again, or communicate with him further, as I could no longer tolerate his negativity.

Some people just love moaning, my mother does it all the time, has an opinion on everything, thinks she knows everything and doesn't understand why I don't do everything her way!!! Oh yes and she doesn't understand individualism either and thinks everyone should like what she likes and not what they like

Don't worry Pearl, think of them as sad people, with sad little lives.

Especially if thats all they have to complain about!

Bet they wouldnt have the balls to do it in person!!

Why does he go camping?

Feck knows why he goes camping!

I have been criticised for not kicking up a fuss when I found 2 minor flaws in my new tent.

They are minute and not functional defects.

The tent is a Dutch import and is a bargain compared with the premium brands.

Hence I have expected the quality to be not as good as the premium brands.

To have it returned for replacement/repair would incur much hassle than it is worth.

Yet I was criticised for being so willing to accept defective goods.

It is my decision, and people should just stay out of it IMHO.

Pearl sorry to break in on this (sounds like the Meldrew guy is a nightmare) but are you well up on camping?

I have got loads and loads of questions on camping/tents etc and don't know where to start with them. Would you mind me asking a few of my probably daft questions please?

PS promise I wont criticise any of the answers

Probably inappropriate to discuss camping on here, however, I shall PM you with the details of a site where one can talk camping until the cows come home.

P.S. I do not claim to be an expert in camping, however, I have been camping on my own with the dog for the past 3 years, including winter camping over New Year weekend in 2009.

Thanks again!

brecon

I love camping, but I do hanker now and then for "rough" camping, not sure if there is a correct term for it.

I take a basha, some bunji's and a sleeping bag, a few rations and water, a knife, and off I go, real Ray Mears type stuff lol.

Used to do it loads as a kid, once spent 10 days living off the land in the middle of nowhere.

Dont think the family would enjoy it lol, although my son is up for it.

I was tempted to go last year, however, it was a long way away for just a weekend.

Besides, I do not want to mix camping with sexy fun. It is something I enjoy doing on my own with just the dog for company as I find it very relaxing.
