If you’re after value I’d recommend the campanile in Swindon

I found it perfectly comfortable whilst doing a long stint working there

I’ve always stayed in the Premier Inn there. It’s exactly what you’d expect.

Tried it, two and a bit times the price of campanile for no real benefit but it’s also perfectly comfortable

Whereabouts is your meeting? Is it the M4 side?

Marriott is handy for Old Town but it really depends where you’re going to be working as to the best for that.

Swindon is small enough that a cab from one side to other isn’t too costly for those times you want to go out.

Stanton house hotel is outside Swindon but it's pretty nice. Especially if you have nice weather.

Yes but people generally understand the areas where the hotels are situated. Hotel chains are pretty much of a muchness but locations are often crucial.

Could look at the new Hotel du Vin in Stratford on Avon then. It could be on your way back if you go up the Fosseway and you’ve got a lovely hotel in a decent setting.

As a swindon dweller... is recommend running away !

It’s very ‘high street’ only and next to no soul...

If you’re looking for comfort try a bit more north. Cirencester is lovely. As is Cheltenham.
