Jeez, there are some time wasting arseholes around.
We'd cleared our diary and even booked the hotel room in Reading - a 2 hour drive for us.
"Let us know in the morning if you can't make it." we asked.
Have we heard anything yet? Not a dickie bird.
Fortunately we were able to cancel the room, so no loss there.
Wifey is spitting feathers and wondering if it's worth the hassle.
Our mistake is that we are naturally too accommodating. We always try and make it easy for our meets. But no more. They are gonna have to make a serious effort from now on because we are being pissed around too often. |

Bad form isn’t it? Read a few similar posts today. I guess it’s one of the pitfalls of the site, not that it makes it less irritating. Thank goodness you didn’t get to Reading before you discovered it |

If it helps, I've had a cancellation the last two Sundays - one I am willing the give another chance on as I think it's genuine and I knew in advance.
The other last week said he didn't' think I was coming because he'd not heard from me (I messaged the day before, checking if we were still on and mine was the last message once confirmed saying 'great') then he said he'd leave now so I agreed to wait - only to find 15 minutes later, no show still and he'd blocked me.
Some people are dreamers, want an ego boost or love your pics. |

At least you have each other.
Why not book a hotel for yourselves anyway and make a weekend of it, then set up a meet. That way if they don't turn up you are both still having a good time anyway.

There is no easy answer, maybe meeting at a club would be easier. At least then, it’s cheaper, you can still have fun together even if the other couple don’t show.
Although there may be a genuine emergency that has stopped your meet from happening today. |

I think in 10 years of swinging I've had one cancellation.. I was gutted the build up to the meet was enormous, So when he cancelled he used all sorts of excuses. People get cold feet, I understand that but I'd rather have the truth than someone not just turn up. Id be fuming too! |

Bad form indeed.
As you're not so new on here unless your meet is with someone recently (and properly) verified it might make sense to go by the "social meet first" rule...meet them first on a social when you are already going somewhere for a definite reason (shopping/take in a show or why).
Takes a bit longer, but heck, at least the journey isn't wasted. If the social is a huge success there's nothing stopping you spontaneously going on to a hotel etc.
No consolation in the present case I know...but you know what they say..a day without learning something is a day wasted. |

Me and the Mrs were contacted by a guy we have met a couple of times over about a 4 year period. He wanted to meet and was arranged for him to our house again but this time I wad to work until later. Two days before he said definitely going to happen and he won't let her down. Never turned up, didn't reply to messages and blocked our profile.
Few days later he is on here asking any ladies for meets. Gina was/is really pissed off with the whole meeting malarkey. |

Don't think there is an easy answer but we always follow a few simple rules.
Always have a social.
Exchange face pics.
Speak on the phone if in doubt.
Always check before hand that the meet is still on before leaving and don't go if get no answer.
It has worked so far for us.
Think some people just get off on the idea of messing others around. |

"The other guy on a thread had a no show as well. Would have been a hoot if you’re talking about each other.
Seriously though.....too bad, these things have been known to happen "
No chance. Our no-show meet wasn't off Fab. |

Op i really feel your pain & im totally on your side. I had arranged a meet last monday for friday past with a couple & i was accommodating during the day. The couple from arbroath decided to advertise on the wednesday they were looking to meet on the friday. I messaged them & asked if they were looking for a better offer in which they replied no they alway cover the options. I decided to pull back & messaged them on friday asking if they managed to arrange a meet. The bile i got is unprintable & i was a various names. They blocked me. All i can say is go with your instinct. If someone or a couples taking the piss then dont meet them. This arbroath couple werent happy but ive self respect & not desperate. |
