Someone asked me this evening, do I need to be wanted or do I want to be needed.

Interesting question. What are your thoughts?

Need to be wanted I think. I need to feel like someone is choosing me in their life.

Being needed is nice but I would rather be with someone who leans on me through choice, not because they "can't live without me".

Wanted. I think surely that's all that anyone wants is for someone to want them unconditionally. I'm needed now and it's hard work

Need to be wanted. Not keen on the other definition, don't want to come across as needy to anyone, smacks of desperation, wanted to be around all day long.

Need to be wanted. Has to be. To be wanted is suggesting a passion and desire to be with someone no matter what. Needed is just not the same feeling of desire more of a necessity to just get by.
