Agreed, doctor should've rescinded something. I just use my phone app to track what I eat and stay at a certain amount of calories and it seems to be going okay |

I agree with this entirely in 2010 I weighed in at 19.5 stone, 18 months later lost 7 stone have stayed at the same kind of weight for nearly 7 years, it’s not about a fad but about true lifestyle change. Good luck
Ps I can now pretty much eat what I want, so can trigger a genuine metabolism change, but it takes hard work
Pps well done coquette69 you look stunning, although I’m sure you did before too x

Follow the route that suits you - it may or may not be one of those organisations. The evidence generally shows that people who use both changes to their exercise levels as well as diet to lose weight, have the greatest success in sustaining their weight loss in the longer-term, rather than just diet or exercise alone.
Thinking long-term, rather than just about getting a quick fix solution, is probably the better way of considering major life-style changes. |

Have a look online at their websites. It should give an idea of how they run their diets. Then see what works best for you and your life.
Different diets suit different people. |

Thanks for backing my story. I've battled with weight pretty much all my life and tried every diet going but this is the only thing that has worked for me.
You look great too, well done you!!
And thank you ... I assure you I DIDN'T look great before |

Don't waste your time with either fella is my advice. I'm under doctors orders to lose weight, have tried both and others and all they done was made me feel really crap!
So, five weeks ago I joined a gym which I visit 3/4 times a week (plenty of cardio) Changed my diet drastically (lots of skinless chicken) and drink 3 litres of water every day! Have lost over a stone already! I feel better than I have in years and it's looking like I'm going to have to replace my wardrobe as things have started to hang off me!
Good luck |

"I need to spend the money as it’s an incentive if I put on I’ve wasted the money ( in my mind any way ) "
Weight watchers worked for me many years ago and trained my thought process about good/bad foods and eating wasted calories (being a crisp addict)
I enjoyed attending the weekly meetings where we could openly admit or discuss our failures and triumphs.
Knowing that I had to pay was the incentive to ‘be good’
We’re all motivated in a different way, slimming clubs work for some and not for others.
Best of luck OP whichever one you chose |

Im doing slimming world, theres some good facebook groups for support, i dont pay to gonto a group but I follow the plan, there are a few guys on there posting some huge losses of up to 250lbs! The transformation is amazing. The good thing I have found is you can eat as much as you want if the good stuff. Ive done calorie counting which worked but i was always hungry. Ive lost 1 1/2 stone since Jan and now im adding in exercise in the gym to speed things along.
The bottom line with any weighloss programme is that you need to create a calorie defecit and you will lose it, whether thats eating less or moving more. Good luck you can do it |

"Slimming world "
Worked well for me a while back & can now maintain my weight. You have to embrace the healthy eating as a lifestyle change rather than seeing it as a diet that you come off after so long. |

Fucking well done buddy!
Remember it's an equation. Simplisticly: Calories in vs Calories expended.
If you can get more active. |

This ^^ a thousand times. It's all about lifestyle change. Weight loss is 80% nutrition and 20% exercise.
Bear in mind as well that some fads do work (no carbs, high fat etc.) But they are unsustainable for a lot of people. You neeed to find something that you enjoy and will stick to.
Don't ever demonise or reward with food. Enjoy it, be sensible with it and remember that it's your energy. If you can afford a dietitian (in the UK dietitians need to have a degree and the job title is protected, anybody can call themselves a nutritionist), then it's definitely something to consider.
If it's a quick fix, then you are likely to put it back on just as quickly as you've lost it.
Good luck
And drink more water

"Slimming world didn’t work for me, I only lost 15lbs in 10 months.
I’ve been doing weight watchers for 4 months so far and I’ve lost 30lbs. I’m the lightest that I’ve been in around 10 years"
I may give weight watchers a go after this episode in my life (currently caring for someone so it's eat when you can) before this i was low carbing. Was hard work but Weight was shifting. Weight was coming off slow with me on slimming world due to it being carb laden. However it's usually really successful for men. |

Slimming world & weight watchers may only work for a short amount of time.
The reason for this is when you lose weight your body requires less calories, yet you’ll still be eating the same amount as when you were X amount .
Google TDEE calculator
Work out your recommended daily/ weekly calorie allowance.
Download MyFitnessPal and track what you eat.
This will help teach you about nutrition , macronutrients & micronutrients.
I have clients who drink gin at the weekends yet has lost weight and more importantly bodyfat without feeling like they’re dieting.
It’s all about burning more calories than you eat.
Good luck |

Weightwatchers plan gives you a point allowance to spend on food and drink which is based on many factors including how active you are in an average day, your height and also your weight. As your weight decreases, so does the point allowance |

"A good diet and plenty of exercise
Lost 5 stone that way
No need for clubs etc "
Depends on self discipline. Some people find it works great just deciding to eat better and exercise. For others, the accountability of having to go to a meeting and have someone weigh you is what keeps you on the straight and narrow. I’m very firmly in the second camp |

I'm in the middle of doing a lifestyle change now. Years of dieting have left me with an unhealthy relationship with food that's so bad that I got diagnosed with an eating disorder last year.
Learn what's healthy, what a healthy portion is, and take up more exercise. Don't go on any of these diets. The weight will come off a bit quicker but it won't stay off and you won't be healthy. |

Neither, unless you want to end up ultimately fatter.
I could tell you a hundred different diets to try and they would all work, in the short term. It needs to be something you can keep up, so the first thing to try would be just cut out processed pretend food and eat real food. Then if you want to take it a stage further, cut down on carbs like bread, pasta, rice.
Also think about eating better/smarter rather than just less, although quantity does come into it.
Throw a bit of whatever exercise you enjoy too and that should be a good start.
