"I have gained a bit of weight lately due to family stress, struggling with the gym and feel like I am getting at the comfortable stage but not happy,
any advice to help get back to that gym body "
Yes, take a look at my pic (male) that should motivate you to get back!! If your not careful you could end up like this!! Ive been back at the gym for 3 weeks now and have lost a stone but have a long way to go!
Get back and get yourself fit, I feel great for the first time in years! |

Snap, but I have joined a new gym and started walking more again so hopefully I'll be back to my old, better self soon.
Good luck with it... Pick something to motivate you again and focus yourself on that alone when exercising x |

Without trying to sound like a bore you need to work both nutrition and exercise. I won't teach you to suck eggs about food. A whole world of info out there.
Exercise is the same. You need to enjoy it.
The main point is consistency. It's a long slog. You need to set attainable goals both food end exercise wise. Don't look for a miracle pill or quick fix.
Keep us posted on progress fella. Good luck! |

It's extremely hard to stay motivated in the gym especially when life is really stressful, try to eat lean. No sugar in teas and coffees, no fizzy drinks, no crisps etc... Eat well and even if you're not making it to the gym a lot you won't gain excess fat. There's been times I missed 8-9mnts of the gym and I don't play sports any more but I didn't gain weight and then there's times I was going gym regularly but was eating pure junk and was getting a belly |

Make yourself a workout plan and stick to it. It's supposed to take 21 days to fix in a new habit, make yourself do it for 3 weeks and then it should just be habit |

Exercise for me is as much about how I feel mentally as well as physically. Even if you only do half hour you'll feel better for it.
Sort out your gear the night before and put it by your door. Visualise how you might feel/ look after a workout. Imagine all the mental stress leaving your body too!
It's a positive thing you can do for yourself to make yourself feel good.
Can you take a picture of yourself and put it up somewhere to motivate you? Been as a screensaver on your phone/ laptop etc
I haven't been to the gym for a month now due to childcare but have walked a lot and had my first run yesterday. Felt so much better for it.
You can do it mate. Even if it's an hour a week it's a good start.
Like another poster said you've put it on here - maybe use that as motivation. Best of luck |

I guess it depends why you'd want to hit the gym?
There's plenty of happiness to be found in the beautiful outdoors without it ferling like an effort, and that's a great way to become to bed along with diet.
Run, swim, bike, sail, surf feel alive for free!!! |

If you want to do bodyweight stuff, "convict conditioning" is a free download - just google it.
Near me the council has parks with bars and other outdoor fitness equipment that you can use for free, might be worth looking in your area. |
