Beard advice

I'm three weeks into my new beard; I like it so far, though there's a lot more grey in it than I expected. Hopefully it makes me look distinguished...

In any event, I'm looking for some advice on care and upkeep. Trimming isn't an issue, but the individual bristles like to point their own way, causing a bit of a spikey look. So, fellow beardies, how do you keep yours looking neat and mono-directional? Also, any tips for softening it up a bit? I haven't completely given up hope that someone will want to kiss me someday.

Trim them with clipper, if worried about grey hair use to cut them using nail cutter. oil ur beard everynight.
