National ‘be kind to a pig’ day

Now, far be it for me to boar you with this topic or hog the message boards - but I’ve noticed some quite cruel suggestions regarding treatment of our porcine friends.
One suggested that they get kicked in the face, another that they be turned into nutritious delights via the medium of a grenade up the bum.
I propose we unite today in our support of pigs and suggest some ways to make them a little happier. How are you going to be kind to a pig? Enough decent suggestions and perhaps we can create a sister site - Fabswiners |

Living in matriarchal sounders, taking care of each other and their kids (and adopting orphans when necessary), reverting to feral in the blink of an eye when there's a forest about and letting the blokes turn up every now and then and fight amongst themselves before letting the choicest specimens mate - what's not to love? Sows rock. |

Pigs would happily turn on their fellow pigs and eat them as they would us given the chance, especially if you gave them a grill and some ketchup...

I run a "care home" for sick pigs.
When they're poorly I rub them with oinkment.....

I run a "care home" for sick pigs.
When they're poorly I rub them with oinkment.....

Hey, don't get me wrong i love pigs and always give them a scratch if they come asking for one. The only time i have ever 'abused' them is to give them a light smack on the snout if they bite - they have very sharp teeth.
In order to avoid being completely vilified i did once rescue a pig wedged in a drain after the cover collapsed. Climbing in behind it and with my hands firmly gripping it's arse i managed to heave it out. Covered in shit and with the skin ripped from the backs of my hands.
Needless to say i got the pig's number.  |
