Couple of questions, how do you navigate, you can fold it sure but where to and how do you get back to start point?
Also is there a quicker from of space travel thought of?
But surely you would have to be able to harness the power of a super massive black hole to be able to fold the fabric of space? |

"Dune solved it by mutating their navigators over hundreds of generations through continuous exposure to the spice melange

True but the concept of being able to fold space is fascinating."
I'd be happy if I could fold my work shirts so they weren't creased when I got them out of my bag.

The thing with thinking about FTL travel isnt so much the speed but its the time impact on it too. The closer you get the slower time moves for you so with that in mind what takes a few hours for you would equate to years back home.
But then to go FTL or fold space both leave the same issue.
With folding space then its also the aftermath of doing it... Think on space as being a fabric, folding leaves a crease.. So potentially damaging the continuum
Personally any serious advances in space travel i doubt we will see in our life time. |
