"Jeffrey Archer is good . I’m listening to A Prisoner of Birth now but like all his books. The Clifton Chronicles were interesting also."
Ooh I love audio books, might get a couple of them. I've read some JA, really enjoyed them, thank you! |

"Try Tess Gerritsen, she's the creator of the characters behind the Rizzoli and Isles series on TV. She mainly writes medical thrillers"
Ooh, thank you! |

My area of expertise
I recommend the following authors:
Jane Austen - basically romcoms in period book form
Charles Dickens - the soap operas of the time
Bronte sisters - I especially like wuthering heights - the ultimate bad boy
F Scott Fitzgerald
George Orwell (though the similarities to modern politics might concern you)
Modern authors
Marian Keyes - laugh out loud funny especially the Walsh family series
Tess geritsen as previously mentioned - excellent crime fiction
Sue grafton - her alphabet books set during the 80's with a tongue in cheek nod to hard boiled detective fiction with a feminist edge, also funny and loveable characters.
You also can't beat Agatha Christie for easy to read but well written crime fiction and mysteries.

I'm a big fan of Dan Brown. Love the delicate weave of truth throughout his fiction. The symbology and history of the bible and the artworks he depicts in his story telling also captivates me. My favourite so far is inferno, closely followed by the lost symbol. |

"I'm into non fiction at the moment. I go through stages. Current book is X and Why. The rules of attraction: why gender still matters.
Last fiction book was The Handmaids Tale."
I've added The Handmaids Tale to my basket! |

I'm the same, love films but books always do so much more for me, my imagination loves to create my own film in my head!! |

If you want crime books try the Robert Hunter series of books by Chris Carter. Every murder is more grizzly than before. Honestly reading some I was literally open mouthed. Stunning. Am going to look up some of these other books though, thanks you lot. |

I think she's very much underrated, very good at balancing pathos and humour and creating fully rounded characters.

Try 'the blade itself' trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. It's like a smaller version of game of thrones but with more skullduggery and genuine humour. I've read it 3 times now. There are another 3 standalone books that round out the world with many of the same characters. |
