You need to distract yourself and keep yourself busy. Have the radio on so you always have background noise. Get out and about and enjoy your own space and not having anyone to answer to or explain where you're going to.

My daughter went today for a week with her Dad. Kind of feel like I should be doing something now but I'm still sitting on the sofa watching tv like I would if she was here and in bed. |

I feel incredibly sad, like I’ve lost my best friend. The sofa seems like it’s apart of me already |

We actively looked forward to ours leaving home. Our youngest went a week after their 17th birthday.
It wasn't because we didn't like having them at home but because we deliberately looked on it as a celebration of them moving on with their lives in the way they're supposed to.
We enjoyed having the freedom to do things we hadn't been able to for years. |
