Nooooo not that! One of our relatives from wales was disgusted we use a knife to get the jam out the jar! She has now sent us a jam spoon, who else uses such a thing?

Geeky x

I work with kids and when putting out breakfast we use a spoon....purely because we have children with allergies. If they use a spoon to put the jam (same with butter, lemon curd, marmalade etc) on their plate, they can use their own knife to spread

Very old-fashioned, and I've never used one either, but rather like the idea. I've always wanted a pair of silver grape-cutting scissors too.

Spoons are less messy but a knife will do.

I always use a knife with honey, it helps stick the peas to it...

I used to use a spoon for jam then i discovered squeezy bottles so now it goes straight on the toast and i spread it with a knife

Never knew there was such a thing as a jam spoon. Knife every time (only exception would be if the jam was too runny, but can't think that's happened more than a couple of times)
