Do you think the end or the means is more important?

Depends what the end is, something trivial then the means but something more important then the end.

If it's a means to an end, then the means is more important because the end is the end, but if the means means you don't get to the end, then it's the end of the means

Know what I mean

If the means justifies the end then its the means..

But it could be vice versa

The Town by The Cross

A context is needed.

I think if you have to claim that the ends justify the means then the means are pretty gnarly and probably not justifiable. Or I may have just mistranslated my Camus.

"Depends what the end is, something trivial then the means but something more important then the end. "

What would be an example of an important end which makes the end more important than the means?

It is contextual, if you are looking for a specific outcome, which has no detrimental affect on anyone else, then yes the means is important

It is contextual, yes.

I’m interested in hearing examples of where people would choose end over means or vice versa.

if I wished to achieve a goal, and the means was knowledge and experience, then the means is more important to achieve my end goal, if my desire was to achieve my end goal by what ever means, then I wouldn't care who I hurt offended or upset, in which the end result would be more important, it comes down how moral I am

And yet many also consider the ends justify the means if it means thousands are saved compared to one terrorist not undergoing western jurisprudence.
