Innocent victims of crime have my deepest sympathy...Gang members being stabbed by other rival gang members I couldn't give a fuck about. A few years back two teenagers died when the car they were in crashed into a tree and the locals were up in arms because the police were chasing them. I upset a few of them by saying that if they weren't lowlife, car stealing scum then they wouldn't have been chased by anyone. Karma can be a right bitch.

Yes I read about this. Trans community are up in arms about it because the police/media have been using her male name. The fact that a young person was murdered seems to have taken second place.

"Whas she murdered purely for being trans?"

A man and a women were arrested. I guess we'll find out the circumstances when the case comes to court.

They're on remand, it could be ages before any details come out.

Somewhat worrying thought if she was lured to a hotel room purely from transphobic motives. It's made me think twice about how I arrange to meet strangers.

Tragic and horrible experience that this lovely woman had. Disgusting.

I think it's important for many of us to keep personal information on a need to know basis, as there's likely someone out there who will project their inner hatred towards someone like us.

Hide yourself away and you let the haters win.

Be yourself, be who you're meant to be, and enjoy the time you have.

We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time.

I agree totally, and have no intention of hiding anywhere. It's just made me reflect on how vulnerable I sometimes allow myself to be, and think more about being on the ball, insisting on public meets etc.

Aggro in the street isn't something that I ever lose sleep over, but the thought of someone deliberately setting out to do harm, that's a whole different kettle of bastards.

In the context of Fab, and its world of casual sex with strangers, I'm not sure that trans is any more vulnerable than straight, gay, bi, black, white, Asian, female, male or whatever.

We all need to be careful and manage the risks we take, I agree.

There was a court case in Cardiff recently.

A man on Fab Guys invited another guy to his place. The visitor tried to murder him.

There's some maladjusted people out there. I'm sure this site has its share, like any other.

Totally. Even in "normal" life I don't feel any less safe walking around the city now than I did when I used to dress male.

My experience all you would hear in a court case is a prosecution version of the facts trying to get a conviction and the defendants trying to get either a none guilty I didn’t do it or a mitigation or justification plea.

I remember a girl from my time in LA. TS Porn star called Silvia Boots I knew her from a club we used to go to called Peanuts. Found out she’s in jail now for shooting another gurl outside the Yukon which was a place everyone hung out after the club. Both lives wasted.

Important to acknowledge if guilty... But yes whoever did this deserves to be locked up for a long time.

the trial is on going and is probably subject to reporting restrictions. In the same way, at the moment the accused is innocent until proven guilty.

Its the same when you see the news when reporting trials and you see the accused shown as a sketch, rather than a photograph, I'm not totally sure why, but as long as its to ensure a fair trial, it would it seem be fair enough.
