"Is "trade" paint worth the extra bucks?
Good quality paint is always worth the extra."
We go to a decorator centre where Johnston trade mixed is cheaper than the non trade. Just have to thin it a small amount and it has loads more pigment. And absolutely loads more pigment than Dulux non trade. |

MacPherson trade or Leyland trade are the best emulsions for coverage (ie less coats) but as previously stated you get what you pay for unless its Dulux in which case your just getting mugged off completely. |

Dulux and Crown. Crown is just coloured water and if you need a colour mixing Dulux charge a fortune (their mixing machines will only mix using dulux paint). Your best bet is to stay away from the big retailers (b+q, wickes etc) and get your paint from a smaller specialist paint retailer. I paid £22.49 for 10 litres of McPherson trade vinyl matt brilliant white today and its covered a room painted in aquamarine blue in 2 coats. If I'd of used Crown I'd be going back tomorrow for another 2 coats |
