I was thinking of going to France for a week's of camping during the Diamond Jubilee week to escape the crowd.
However, I am already driving up to Scotland for 2 weeks in August to escape the Olympics.
Hence I decided to camp at my favourite site down in Dorset instead.
With the poor exchange rate and the additional cost of tunnel crossing, France does not look that attractive for next year.
The dog already has his passport ready last December, and I have all the gear for continental camping.
Just have to wait another year before I go back to France.
Anyone else staying at home for their holidays next year? |

Can't be arsed with holidays, they take too much arranging and cost too much.
My holidays are a jaunt camping to car shows, surround myself with V8's, loud music and the rest, absolute bliss!! |

My son and daughter went off to Bulgaria this year, they couldn't believe I had such a great tan when I collected them from the airport.
Where had I holidayed?
In Glasgow with a friend! |

I have decided where to go in Scotland, and where to have overnight stop there and back.
Just need to wait until early November in order to book the campsites.

.
If you are a family with kids, then it may be worth your while to join one of the clubs and stay at their club sites at discounted prices.
