It's no worse than normal, except the media just jumped on it.
Less police, directions to avoid stop and search, less funding for youth work (gangs predominantly 14-21 years old) and shit role models.
Turn the tv off and go about your business and its generally fine. |

The increase in crime and murder levels is not unique to London. I'm no expert but can't help cutting 20000 police roles sonce this government got in to power may be linked |

What's worse is their choice of weapons and the amount of people using them.
The gang culture has escalated and grievances aren't solved with a fist fight or brawl. Now they drive by shoot you or storm your house with machetes and corrosive substances.

Unfortunately there are a lot of kids today without a sense of direction in life or good role models to look up to.
Also I think we live in a materialistic society which encourages these kids to commit crime and when coupled with a toxic "street respect" culture (exacerbated by social media bragging) leads to increase in violent crime. |
