A good home made cake.

Mass produced cakes are awful these days.

I know I sound like an old woman but ffs ..... I can remember when cakes tasted good.

These days they are all the same mix...... honest to god........... the same mix with an additional ingredient or flavour added at the end.

Probably a good carrot and walnut with a cream cheese filling or a superb coffee cake made with strong coffee and topped with either chocolate ganache or split and filled with vanilla buttercream.

Just around the corner

You can’t beat a good home made coffee and walnut cake. I’m also partial to a traditional fruitcake.

I make a very nice (and very easy) vegan banana cake, with just a hint of ginger. Not exactly my favorite but my housemate's been absolutely raving about it.Says it just cant be bettered, just wait until he samples my (not vegan) Jamesons and cherry, fruit cake.He will be in cake heaven.

It's nit quite cake but I made cinnamon buns with a cream cheese frosting in work the other day... Served warm...

They were very popular

My favourite cake is a French fancy... I know there usually made by Mr Kipling..

Otherwise anything I make really... A good ginger cake with butter frosting and extra ginger on top is always good. Or a damn good brownie..

Lemon drizzle if we're talking general.

Specifics, a restaurant by me used to do Chocolate Fudge Cake with four layers, milk chocolate icing and chunks of milk, dark and white chocolate and various fudges all the way through. A.Mazing.

Lemon half-moon cake (seems to be unobtainable now).

Second best is Marble half-moon (Iceland sell these).

I must admit I have always preferred factory-made cakes to home-made.
