because a lot of people find uniformed men attractive
it's a cliche, but one that does get some credibility
i think there is a link between that and perceived masculinity / fitness etc
also, a number of people (but not all) who are ex-woteva find it hard to ever shake that out of their system and hold on to it |

I'm gonna start going 'round telling everybody that I'm an Ex television engineer - doesn't quite have that 'something' does it ?
Or an Expert
Ex is something that has been and a spurt is a drip under pressure |

No different to men that boast in the first sentence how big a knob they are, erm I mean how big their knob is.
As Shania sang..."that don't impress me much!" |

They may be trying to tell you they once had something which they felt defined them as a person but now they just don’t know who they are or the point of their existence; hence clinging to the past, to evade the feeling of being worthless.
Or they may just think what they did in the past has a better chance of getting a shag than showing people who they are now.

I am actually ex RAF but I'd never mention it on my profile or use it to impress.
The only I use it is when serving members mail me and say I'm in the Army/RAF/Navy etc like it's meant to impress me.
I grew up in the military, I joined it myself. Uniform doesn't impress me. |
