Lovely county very pretty
Not much going on, wages are rubbish around here, cost of living isn’t as cheap as a lot of other places, Wales on your doorstep
Love it |

Northumberland
God's second attempt after he realized the Garden of Eden hadn't worked out as he planned. Simply beautiful, even in winter...
Downsides? The main roads are shit and some places are a long way from anywhere else. Oh, and Blyth - if Northumberland was a person Blyth is where they'd insert the enema tube.... |

I think mine's a bit shit really, a few nice bits (thankfully I live in one of them) but not much to really rave about. No city or hub to speak of, and I've never found one website where you can pick South Glos as an option on the address pages.

Swansea-we live on Gower so it's always like being on holidays. Wages are rubbish. The people are really warm, funny and friendly and the town itself is horrible so we avoid that place as much as we can |

Love it, beautiful place, not too expensive to live here, central to Birmingham and Manchester.
Right on the North Welsh border so not far from stunning scenery |

Dear Coquette, not selling Cambs very well. Quite flat so great for cycling. Big skies and terrific weather. It’s the ‘California ‘ of Great Britain. And, as extensive research from Sydney University has shown, the best lovers in the UK. |

Buckinghamshire.
Um MIlton Keynes which is ok for shopping I suppose but has great events and an awesome theatre.
North Bucks where I live has great Countryside and pubs.
Cost of living is reasonable housing not so much.
And um good transport links to go other places. |

We went to the Gower on holiday a couple of years back, absolutely stunning. We looked at the house prices when we got back and remember thinking they must be completely out of sync with the jobs in the area as they were so expensive.

Gloucestershire ~ beautiful county, Cotswold hills to the east, Forest of Dean to the west, River Severn running through the middle. Gloucestershire has some of the prettiest villages you'll find in the UK, and the towns of Cheltenham, Gloucester and Cirencester are all quite lovely too. There are some great places to go walking and mountain biking (things we do lots of)...I love where we live!

Shit cities barring York (in terms of aesthetics) but some of the finest countryside you can get. I've travelled to various stunning places around the world and still think parts of Yorkshire on a fine summer's day tops them all |

Staffordshire- large diverse county. Has good transport links if the M6 is clear. Beautiful countryside and I live on the edge of a large AOUNB so lots of outdoors pursuits available. But close enough to big towns and cities. Cost of living isn’t too bad but also some areas of deprivation. X |

Plus the best coast line " Oh yes. Our coast is simply perfect. The A1 may be the worst main road in England (or this universe, actually) but the moment when you come over the brow and can see Holy Island for the first time is magic. |

Cheshire, flat as a pancake, housing is extortionate, wages good, transport good, roads good, scenery very good, not far from Wales or Derbyshire hills.
Great city's like Manchester, Chester and Liverpool on your doorstep!.

Hampshire - Rural, green, expensive.
Cambridgeshire - Semi-rural, terrible traffic, nice enough.
Lancashire - Busy, cold, difficult accents.
Lincolnshire - Green, surprisingly cheap, friendly.
I get around a lot

The edge of the earth...
Vast empty beaches rolling Atlantic surf miles of coastline cliffs hills fields farms and the most achingly beautiful sunsets. Sometimes even the northern lights.
Ruins castles rolling black storm clouds land of mystery dark dreams myths legends and glens with babbling rivers strange shaped rocks giants and stories that chill the mind...
And yet it's miles from anywhere and living in a time that has long since gone...
Yet I still miss home sometimes.. |

I'm fairly new to Yorkshire and frequently catch my breath at how beautiful it is as I drive somewhere. Disagree with you about the cities though, Leeds has brilliant culture (Opera North, Northern Ballet, Grand Theatre, etc etc) and amazing shopping, bars and restaurants, Wakefield has thd Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Hepworth (museum of the year) and even Bradford has the Alhambra. |

The Isle of Man.
Beautiful gem in the middle of the irish sea, gorgeous scenery, steeped in history and when the sun is shining there is nowhere else I'd rather be.very low crime rate and unemployment (about 1%) but....
Expensive to live, shit nightlife, small island mentality and you really must escape every now and again for the sake of sanity. |

South Yorkshire can be a place of extremes, from deprived areas to lovely areas in minutes.
I live 10 minutes from The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, centres of Sheffield, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Barnsley, Holmfirth and the Peaks.
There is always a lot of local activity in the Updates section of Fabs |

Merseyside
Home to possibly the most vibrant city in the country at the minute, 2 cathedrals and the most listed buildings of any city outside London.
We are at the foothills of Wales and across the water from Dublin, we have the lakes and Pennines within 90 minutes drive.
It’s also close to Townhouse! |

Also Staffordshire, 3 miles from town 2 miles from Cannock Chase. In the middle of the country so close or good links to everywhere.
Frank is from Shropshire & it’s growing on me - far more open space but feels like it needs to catch up with everywhere else!!

Hertfordshire. Very handy for London and a fraction of the price. Well linked with excellent rail links? motorways and 2 airports in close proximity.
Culturally it's a bit bleak. I mean places like stevenage, Hatfield, Hemel and Borehamwood, no one chooses to visit them do they? Beautiful countryside though |
