Probably not, but they would have known the roads. I fancy a lemon ice now. |

The utter heart pounding panic of trying to get out the house in a pair of shoes clutching a fiver, as if their life depended on it.
To realise we have the same ice lollies in the freezer when they come back with one   |

Where we used to live the children could hear it but not see it, and when they asked me what the noise was; having just watched Chitty chitty bang bang, The child catcher slipped out  they believed me and behaved impeccably every time they heard after until they twigged it wasn't. Needless to say I've never won any great Mum awards

That reminds me of when my daughter was little and we heard the icecream van and I said yes she could have one,which I may add was a rare occurance. Excitedly she ran out with her money,only the git had disappeared. She came back in so disappointed I stuck my shoes on and we both went in search of him...
How the hell an icecream van can vanish without further trace is beyond me,but not knowing his route he was forever lost...
Poor thing still remembers that traumatic event to this day. |
