I know this is a strange question to ask on a swinging site....

Has anyone had any experience with canine lymphoma? My dog was diagnosed 3 months ago and has been responding very well to treatment up until the past 2 days. I haven't been able to get her to drink water at all today and now she's panting continually. Has anyone any suggestions (aside from call the vet... that'll happen first thing tomorrow!)?

Ahh I’m sorry to hear that! Having had a stint in a practice, I do know that it becomes a little more serious when they’re not drinking water. I’d maybe recommend an out of hours call to be on the safe side!

Not sure about the condition but your dog needs fluids. I would wet a sponge with cold water and squeeze it gently into his mouth.

Try wetting your fingers and running them around her mouth.

To keep her a bit hydrated.

If it was me I would call out the 24 hour vet service.

Cool her down by bathing her feet in cool water.

Can you try syringing some on the back of the dogs tongue? It might stimulate the swallow reflex.

Other than that, If I had something handy I'd possibly consider stomach tubing, but the chances you have a soft bit of tubing and suitable syringe are probably minimal.

Thanks guys!! I didn't have either.... but the ice pop suggestion got me thinking. She's happily licking away on a block of frozen chicken stock now
