I really need to jump aboard the sick wagon. Some I work with have three weeks a year off as well as holidays, me, four days off in seventeen years.

I've only ever faked it once, using the above excuse. Throwing in some unwanted detail always helps as they just want you off the phone and to stop imagining fizzy bisto pouring from you.

Helps if you have a job specific illness like skitters if you're working with food.
