Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Yep. There's a set of mirrors up there that are used for measuring the moon's distance from the earth. They sure didn't grow there.

God help us if a woman ever goes there then. She would be taking her helmet of to sort her hair out in them.

Yes, one of the missions deployed an array of prisms. They measure the distance with a laser on a regular basis.

Why do we call it 'the moon' when we don't call mars 'the' mars?

"Why do we call it 'the moon' when we don't call mars 'the' mars?"

Mars is a planet, the moon is a moon. There are other moons in our solar system its just that one up there is the earth's moon shortened to the moon.

It was probably 10 to 5 on a Friday, just before happy hour at the Three Cranes... and they were in a rush to fill in the paperwork .... in such a short space of time, it was the best they could come up with.

And the lovers sat looking at the full barry and where in awe of all the stars on such a crisp and clear barry lit night...

There was a reason why it was called barry... me thinks?

LOL sure. We can't get robots to function properly now, and these things were installed in th 70s. But I guess conspiracy theories are much more interesting than the truth.

Yes, man has set foot on the moon. An extremely dangerous mission carried out by brave men who didn't know if they would get back home in a space craft with computing power of that of a home calculator. I'm a bit of a saddo about the 60's Moon shot programme and have been lucky enough to meet Buzz Alderin the 2nd man on the moon

"The earth has more than one moon though... it was on QI"

I read somewhere (or made it up) that there is at least one other moon or very small planet that has a huge elliptical orbit that takes it right out of our solar system (as we currently understand it) and back in again.

One full orbit of the sun by this planet could take thousands of years and possibly this planet may have life on it and may explain why our ancient ancestors were obsessed with Gods who lived in the sky.

Strange shit indeed!

We may be due a visit by this planet in a few hundred years! 'God' may return like he promised after all!

man went to the moon without doubt

the only evidence the moon hoaxers come up with is easily debunked

the waving flag-come on,do you think nasa would spend millions on a hoax to leave this in.the moons atmosphere is almost nonexistant, this allows the flag to wave through momentum

VAB-the radiation from this is easily stopped by the vessel.also the time it takes to pass through is quick

there are also numerous non nasa organizations who tracked the whole mission,most5 importantly russia.the chinese also did,the australians and a radio scope in portugal.jodrell bank also tracked it.

the japanes have recently photographed the mountains in the apollo pics.

the rover and tracks have been photographed

the mirror left on the moon

the 1000's of people who would have been involved, someone would have spoke out by now

people claim no stars in photos....

easy to show why not

go out side at night with a camera set to take pics in bright light and take a pic of the sky,i guarantee you wont see stars

"Why do we call it 'the moon' when we don't call mars 'the' mars?"

There are many moons. Mars has some, Jupiter has some and ... So ours is "the" moon

Did you know our moon is actually part of the earth. It's a result of a massive collision billions of years ago

There is frozen water on the caps and so we could put a feul cell on their and create an habitable environment

Also, every year its orbit moves an inch away from the earth and it we lose it our weather system would be more chaotic than it is now

I know more but better stop before you fall alseep with boredom (;-)

I'm still a little biy at heart that loves facts and stuff (;-)

It's called Cruithne - there's much debate about its' classification.
