Friends requests without messages.

The request you don’t want.

You have never spoken to them, they have never spoken to you.

Yet they demand to be your friend.

So they can see your private pics.

This includes males, females and couples.

Worst offenders are people who have no private pics. Then expect you to add them.

Do you believe in like for like?

What do you do, how do you deal with this menace.

Your thoughts?

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I don't even look at that part of the site unless someone I have been chatting to sends me a message to say they'd like to be friends.

I'm starting to think that people get no replies to messages and then think maybe they need to be 'friends' before they'll get a reply. So it's just a way of asking to be friends and not sinister at all.

I've asked a few people why they've sent me a friend request when we've never chatted and that's the kind of answer they gave.

Surely a friend request is just that, a request. It's not a demand at all.

Ignore them.... Pretty simple really. I leave their request pending so they can't send another.

I agree with this, people just not quite getting the way others use friends function on here. I have no reason to be offended by it in the slightest.

It annoys me. I have people on my friends list who I have chatted to and I want to stay friends with.

Being sent a friend request by people I have never spoken to, suggests to me that they want to nose at my photos or try to get round my filters.

I usually delete unsolicited ones, and if their name keeps reappearing, then they get blocked.

I’ve just had a friend request from a couple, no message and they have no pics on their profile. Pretty pointless exercise really.

I review it like twice a week.

If I can’t remember them at first glance they get deleted

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

It doesn't worry me that much, I just go through them, delete anyone too far away. Then look at the profiles of the others to make my decision of whether to accept or not.

It's not a big problem

It happens. But just shows that they didn't bother to read my profile. So really they've just filtered themselves out for me

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

I see it as them wanting to see your friend pics, there's no other benefit to being 'friends' on here, if it's updates and ease of finding you they can put you on their hotlist.

I only accept people I've met and just leave all others sat there as they can't request again then.

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

I do not accept anybody, even those I’ve met. Is there any benefits in being fab friends?

I don’t regard it as a demand, or that they are expecting to be added. I see a friend request for what it is - a request. Which we are all within our rights to refuse. People run their profiles differently, so unless someone specifically states on their profile what their friend accepting policy is, I don’t see how it’s possible to know what someone would regard as unacceptable.

We used to accept them but quickly found out that they were pic collectors and had no intention of meeting. We also now look for how many friends they have if over 20 we are likely to reject with all the good will in the world 20 new meets may be hard to fit in unless a bulk club meet
