Reporting. What's the point?
Jump to: Newest in thread
In the past week or so, I've stumbled upon, and reported the following:
A "Female" profile using a (pretty obvious) picture stolen from a number of porn sites on the web - I suspected as much, reverse image checked it, and bingo - 12 hits. I reported the profile and even attached the link.
Two women requesting money from me for a meet - their requests were of course declined and the pertinent messages reported.
One couple I'd never met - or even spoken to on the phone, requested after us exchanging a few messages that I verify them. Again the offending message was reported.
The perplexing thing is - every single one of these individuals are still on the site!
I wonder why I bother.
....ahhh that's better |

I am lead to believe it takes time for things to happen as there are only so many administrators, they need to get a full picture.
Unless it's a ban from chat or forums they seem to be pretty quick! |

I think admin review the profiles reported and remove fake pics and give others a mark against them. If everyone reported stuff eventually those profiles with enough marks against them get removed/suspended |

I've reported men for using porn pics before, and I usually see a result within 6 hours. |

The fake pic is still there 3 days after I reported it! |

Maybe they keep uploading the same pic? |

Really - people would actually do that? I guess they would. During my short stay on here, I've learned pretty quickly not to be surprised by anything.
It really does make one worry for the sanity of these tragic individuals though. |

It can take Admin up to 48 hours to deal with reports, sometimes a bit longer depending on the amount of reports coming in.
If found breaking rules they may get a warning of some sort or banned from doing something on site rather than chucked off altogether. If Admin chucked people off the site who broke a rule the people posting on the forum who have had a ban would have been chucked off by now

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.
******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).
Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.
Admin
PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.
Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.
A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.
By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.****** |
