So one thing I've noticed from going to swingers clubs is how fucking awesome the women often look at varying ages from 20s through to late 50s and sometimes older. I've certainly upped my beauty regime since swinging!!

So what tricks of the trade do you beautiful lot use and swear by?!

My long standing things are: Derma roller (looks like torture instrument with needles) has kept lines at bay for years now.

Recent find: suction cups for cellulite... AMAZING!!! genuinely works a treat

Fake tan. Obvs... And endless scrubbing

I've never really been bothered with expensive or time consuming beautifying rituals. I started using a daycream a couple of years ago and I get my roots and hair dyed by a hairdresser rather than doing it myself every couple of months but that's about it for a beauty regime. Other than daily body lotion on my upper arms because I have keratosis pilaris there.

Good genes, good hairdresser, fresh air, exercise.

Moisturiser can be the cheapest as long as you use sunscreen.

You look phenomenal! I've used a derma roller since it was a thing Angelina Jolie apparently used 10 years ago. Really works. I use it prob a couple times a month now.

I love finding new beauty tricks. Such as readinh once about strippers using hemorrhoid cream on spots!!

Diet and exercise play a big role but genes definitely help. I've got a naturally very round face but I'm careful not to let my weight fluctuate up and down too much. Playa havoc with boobs and jaw lines otherwise!!

I've always cut my own hair as have a really fear of hairdressers... But I do get hair envy of those with long glossy tresses!

I recently discovered Arbonne products... Only got their eye cream as so expensive but made a big difference. I just stick to olay radience moisturiser though for rest of face as suits my skin xx

Well... They're bloody amazing. Just a domed rubber cup that looks like something you'd get with your laundry detergent... Cover your thighs in baby oil or moisturiser suction on and then massage in big circles. Hurts like fuck to start with so go gently. You'll see a difference in a couple of days. I just do 5 mins a day if I remember xx

I don’t think I have ever particularly invested in myself through good self care (whether consistently committing to a beauty or fitness regime), predominantly due to low self esteem and often thinking there were other things that took priority. No more! Bookmarking this thread for good tips, thanks OP!!

I use Aldi moisturiser on my face and a body lotion on the rest of my body. I avoid using anything on my nose and forehead as it's so greasy.

I use a hair mask treatment every time I wash my hair try not to wash it more than once a week, twice if I really have to.

My father has always looked about 20 years younger than his age and has never used anything but soap on his face . His mother who also looked very young used glycerine and rose water on her face and when her kids were little would wipe their wet nappy on her face. I saw a therapist recommending using your own urine on telly the other day too. I think I'll pass

I don't really do much, I wash my face in the shower/bath, use moisteriser if I think I need to. I don't pluck or wax anything but I shave everything from the waist down every day. That is pretty much it for me, I'm no major beauty but think I look ok for almost 46.

"So one thing I've noticed from going to swingers clubs is how fucking awesome the women often look at varying ages from 20s through to late 50s and sometimes older.

Fake tan. Obvs... And endless scrubbing"

I’d never even heard of a derma roller! Are they any good? Do they actually reduce wrinkles?

I’ve always looked after my skin so It’s in reasonable shape for my age - but it’s very sensitive so every (often expensive) anti-wrinkle product I’ve tried has made my skin dry and patchy!

Can anyone who knows about them recommend a good (but not too expensive) one suitable for a middle aged woman?

I’d be most grateful!

Yes they reduce wrinkles! I literally have only the faintest lines and my skin tone really good. The tiny needles cause minute pin pricks to the skin which boosts collagen production as the skin heals. You won't see any damage although I always do mid week especially on my neck in case it looks red afterwards. You only need to gently roll it across skin a few times. I use round edges of my eyes, forehead plus neck and décolletage. Good for scarred areas too such as stretch marks.

Try a rosehip oil by Neal's yard for your skin. Super boosted with antioxidants and ultra gentle. They work a treat for sensitive skin... I used to get ultra flushed and still have to be really careful sometimes xx

Oh - and my own tips etc!

Modelled many moons ago and was encouraged then to start an early skincare regime!

Namely

Exfoliate the body every day during shower/bath time! Expensive products aren’t necessary - I simply use one of the ‘net sponges’ and replace fairly regularly!

Exfoliate the face approx 2-3 times per week with a mildly abrasive facial scrub - or daily with a very mildly Abrasive facial scrub.

After showering use a simple body lotion daily to keep skin soft, supple and moisturised. When possible, take time massaging it in to encourage deeper penetration and cell regeneration.

Wash or cleanse face every morning and night - then massage in a light moisturiser in the morning and a heavier moisturising cream at night!

NEVER go to bed with makeup on!

Drink plenty of non alcoholic/non caffeinated drinks! Milk (if you enjoy it) is actually far more hydrating than water - and therefore helps to maintain the hydration of your skin better than all other drinks!

Obviously skimmed milk is better for weight control! I have skimmed milk every morning and evening (just over a pint a day) and water the rest of the day!

Thanks - other than early stage wrinkles I have really good skin. I’ve googled derma rollers and I think one would be ideal for me!

I’d be most grateful if you could pm me with details of where you got yours and how much you paid for it? Or post it on here of course!

At the moment my wrinkles are just round my eye and mouth area - but - if they work as well as the reviews claim - I love the idea of firming up my whole facial area!

Mines an unbranded one off eBay... Two different heads with 1mm and 1.5mm needles... I'm on my third one as I feel after a while the needles not as sharp (They're teeny surgical ones) but that's in 10 years! Definitely helps with skin tone... You can use them all over and get wide heads for using on the body xx

I take my make up off at night and do have days when I don’t use any at all. Plus I use Clinique moisturiser as that’s the only one I’ve found that actually sinks into my skin and not sits on it. But I’m going to look for a derma roller as well. X

Derma roller is fab

Microdermabrasion I couldn't live without now. Microblading I haven't tried but can take 5 years off. Tan I have to give first place to tho. Can change an outfit and a smile instantly x

Northampton Somewhere

I exfoliate in the shower every other day and do my face in the bath once a week. I always take my make up off with cleanser but never tone, I don't like the way it makes my skin feel. I use Soap and Glory products, they seem to be quite a good mid price range and Boots usually do a buy 2 get 1 free type deal.

I wash my hair every 3rd day, used to be every day but it dried it out loads even though I never blow dry it. Once a week I use a deep conditioner or put coconut oil in overnight. I look like a proper greasy tramp in the morning but it seems to help.

For people with fine hair I've found the horse shampoo Mane and Tail is amazing.

It sounds like dermo rolling is the way to go!!!

Here and There

Horse shampoo Made me chuckle as I know it only too well

Even as a bloke I’ve found since being active on fab I’ve become a lot more conscious about exercising and diet. Though I still probably drink too much wine.

Hello girls

Which derma pen to you use?

I’ve had “collagen wave therapy “lovely results (it’s supposed to heat the base of skin & stimulate collagen bit pricey @£100 session!

I've also found using products for age 60+ actually really worthwhile!! L'oreal range really good if on a budget. I use their cleanser with magnesium which really gives my skin a glow. I never scrub as I find it makes my skin break out... Very occasionally I'll use a gentle face peel.

"Thanks..do you use them with any product? "

I tend not too.. Although will use a face oil afterwards as more gentle on my skin.

Yay! Go gently to start with. Just a few backwards forwards sweeps in problem areas
