For us it isn't the opening comment that's important, it's what follows.
Obviously avoid crass, crude and ignorant but we tend to go by the profile, pictures and following messages. So "Hi, how are you?" is ok by us .  |

A "wow you look absolutely gorgeous" works for me!! I can't be arsed with the hi what you up to, what you doing, how's your day etc which I know sounds awful but I don't use Fab for chat at all as it takes up so much time and I only do clubs and parties rather than looking for solo meets.
So definitely read their profile first! Be witty and definitely don't be disheartened if you don't get a response back as women get a disproportionate amount of messages on a daily basis. |

DO NOT put "Hi" in the subject line (like 90% do) - make it interesting and don't put "How's you?" In the text. 
Do not ask questions that require the person you are writing to to make all the running.
Don't send pages of obvious copy and paste messages.
Finally, if you read their profile you will see if they are compatible. If they say "Group sex only, no 121 meets and no socials" then DO NOT offer a candle lit dinner for 2 !!! Its not rocket science. |

I reply to all first messages. I know that most women and couples just ignore mail so that's why many men get fed up of trying to think of something to say.

True, you'll attract more bees with honey than you will with vinegar or something along those lines.
When I'm fabbing photos I'll occasionally message just to compliment people on their efforts, not in the hope of meeting, just to spread a little happines. |
