I think the whole tournament should boycott Russia for the way it is behaving at the moment.

The world cup organisers must have a back up plan... time to use it!

I don’t think we should go.

And to be honest, i feel like this whole situation is showing us up to be a weak Country.

I know you have to be diplomatic in the interests of not starting off a War etc., but honestly i feel like there’s large feet hanging over our Country ready to squash us whenever they want and apart from a feeble attempt at pushing them off, in the grand scheme of things, we’d be fucked.

No evidence Russia has done anything of course.

You really believe our government and media after the WMD dossier and the illegal invasion of Iraq?

Ask yourself why there is anti Russian propaganda at present then look at America and Israel and the fundemental fact that war is more profitable and peace.

I posted a very long referenced post in the politics forum yesterday explaining in detail why none of the Novichok story actually makes any sense. Google for Craig Murray's blog if you want to read it in full.

But please don't go just accepting what the government (and their mouthpiece media) tells you as being true; they are just giving you the agenda they want you to believe.

I'm not really a fan of Boycotts but the safety of the team and fans has to be considered.

Ditto on the boycott, I think the Russians will ensure the safety of the team and any fans in the stadium's as to not do so would have consequences for any future sports events etc..

Putting aside this use of nerve agent and how it's going to play out up to the world Cup between the UK and Russia based purely on the organised attacks on anyone supporting England in France at the euros by far right groups from Russia I genuinely fear for any England supporters going to the tournament..

The Russian hooligans targeting the English is alot down to how the English behaved over the years in international football. I know now hooligans don't follow the national team anymore but the Russians are living in the past and think they're gunna get a good fight off the English fans when that's not the case anymore. I don't think it's a case of hatred it's just that these hooligans fancy a fight and England had a terrible reputation years ago for having fans that fancied a fight.

I agree in part . But I think it goes a lot deeper than just English hooliganism .

Most of the Russian games and teams have a hard line core of followers that fight and organise fights each week before and after games .

I think we should boycott the World Cup and I feel most of Europe would follow ... this would hit Russia hard not only financially but also as a country .

Putin needs a kick in the nuts , especially as he is currently campaigning for re-election ,,,, tho against who ,, I’m not sure?

We should go, politics do not belong in sport. The boycott of South Africa was due to human rights, this is not.

Let the fans go mingle with the Russian people and you'll find that they are a warm, friendly and surprisingly funny. Don't let insane leaders (including our own) define a nation.

I went to Arkhangelsk to visit the Arctic Convoy cemetery and found it still well maintained and the locals friendly and still thankful of what British and American sailors did to help Russia in WW2

Probable scenario is Russia has taken out a former spy to keep him quiet. It may have been on British soil but it's hardly an attack on Britain. We'd all probably be shocked at how often this sort of thing happens without the need to start a war. I don't seem to recall as much fallout after the mysterious death of Dr David Kelly for example

Nonsense. They have done it to show what they are capable of. The week before they were boasting about their new nuclear weapon.

They are disgusting, warmongering thugs.

I do not particularly care about their ex-spies, but I do care about the emergency services who attended, the recovery truck driver, innocent members of the public who tried to help. The fact that it seems to have either been carried out in a restaurant, or in a supermarket car-park.

If they wanted to take out a former spy, then just go to his house and shoot him, not that I would condone such a murder for one minute, but to poison someone in public, shows how alike Russia, North Korea and Hitler really are.

thats pretty typical Tory behaviour, use fear and intimidation to get your point across. As you should have noticed I'm not from the U.K. and I live in Berlin so it actually doesn't really affect me either way. I don't see how Russia's alleged actions are much different to Britain sending a murder squad to Northern Ireland that murdered numerous civilians in mistaken identity and crossfire on the streets.

You should really give Scotland Yard a bell with that conclusive evidence you have that the Russians did it, they need the propaganda for mugs like you!

It's also much more likely I would have an innocent family member killed by some trigger happy British "patriot" like yourself than by a Russian...

As for Jeremy Corbyn, I find British politics very dramatic and cringeworthy... i don't really have an opinion on him!

Why don’t we go and show them who’s boss like we did in Afghanistan and Iraq, aparantly they committed terror attacks against us and saddam hussein had chemical weapons... oh no let’s actually just boycott the World Cup lol

Because they have a decent army, no chance of nicking their oil and nuclear weapons and a dangerous dispot in charge"

"So you're quite happy with what they did are you?

We've done worse in the past, so it's absolutely fine for them to injure or kill innocent people on the street in the UK is it?

You'll be ok when it's your friends and family that it affects next time around will you?

You must be the biggest Russian loving, Jeremy Corbyn fan, idiot on the planet

"

Also based on that temper and misinformation I'd say most of your profile is pure lies!

I'm all honesty wtf can we do about it? We can't go over there with our so called allies and get rid of putin just because we suspect he is using chemical weapons.. surely it's wrong to do that!

"Do you think the England football team should not go to Russia

In protest to the attack ?

The royal family representing England football team in Russia should they go ?

Royal family NO

England football team YES "

I don't think anyone should go there until they take control of their nerve agents
